Replacement for my 54-year-old Weber grill
I received this new grill as a replacement to the nearly identical model that I purchased 54 years ago. The old grill performed faithfully for all those years despite getting dented, losing its wheels and suffering a little rust. It cooked a large turkey for every Thanksgiving, and for many years travelled with me by car when we visited family for Thanksgiving. My family gave me the new one this year for my 85th birthday, because they felt my old one looked too beat up.

Webers are the grills that get the job done. I've been using Webers for 50 years and we always have a great bbq. I love the 22 inch size...the flip in grill ends, the ash catcher, the vent lever and the built in thermometer in the lid. Great product!

There's a reason Weber is number 1. I already own a Weber Genesis gas grill but I really missed the smell and taste when you grill over charcoal. So, I went back to basics. There was no question that I was purchasing a kettle grill from Weber. The grill is super easy to use and maintain.

It's the king for a reason. Out of all the grills I own, from big green expensives to propane griddles to smokers, the one that will always remain is a standard Weber Kettle. Always. Best way to grill! Perfect temperature control, and charcoal gives the finished product a much better taste than gas provided heat. Weber is the only choice when choosing a charcoal grill. Also, less cleanup than gas grills.

I love my Weber Kettle Grill. I use both a gas grill and a charcoal grill. I use the charcoal mainly for indirect, slow cooking. I have learned to use the vents on the grill to control the temperature which is the key to cooking with charcoal. The high quality of the Weber Kettle Grill will give me many years for trouble free grilling. Weber makes the best grills.

Family traditions
This is my replacement for my original weber mastertouch from 1993. The wooden handles had burnt off, a hole had finally rusted through prompting the replacement. I had rebuilt it 3 times over the years. It was my father's day present that year. A lot of memories were created with that old kettle. I used my rotisserie with that old kettle every Thanksgiving and Christmas for the holiday turkey. I needed another kettle to continue that tradition. I got my son a kettle and rotisserie many years ago and he has continued that same tradition with his family.

Best Grill I’ve Owned
I have owned quite a few grills through the years and currently have five. This kettle is hands down the best I’ve cooked on. It is very easy to regulate the temp during long indirect cooks and add fuel as needed. My second cook on it was a pork butt, which had much better flavor and had a better bark than I can get with a pellet grill.

The bowl on my Weber grill developed a burn through hole. My friend suggested placing a warranty claim. The process was easy and was addressed quickly. Extremely helpful through the process. Is this grill able to work with wood instead of charcoal?
I’ve used standard charcoal briquettes and pressure treated, charred hardwood in my Weber grill, and both work great. You may need to adjust your cooking time for the hardwood, as briquettes tend to burn slower and last longer than natural wood.
