30" Series 9
This is my first electric stove, and I love it very much! I've been on my own, cooking, for 50 years and never imagined I'd cook with electricity but induction technology is truly amazing. The oven isn't induction, of course, but it is extremely wonderful to use. Right now I have two loaves rising in the warmer drawer which is another delightful aspect of this stove. I have nothing but praise for this item!

Great features & great look
So far, I am getting use to induction cooking but am happy with it. I love the way the racks slide back & forth so easily & don't tip. I also like the feature that allows for cleaning underneath because of the raised legs.

Fantastic upgrade
We upgraded from electric to this induction range during a kitchen remodel, and absolutely love it! It is a great range. It is so much easier to use than the standard electric stove - things heat so quickly and it is great at regulating heat. I'm still learning how to use the oven and all the induction perks, which are many!

Excellence
Beautiful and functional. Easy to use knives on the fro t of the range. Easy to see screen to let me know which burner is on or hot. Nice pics of different functions to control convection oven. Love the rackets, easy to move, rearrange and they slide out!

Great oven
I love it. Heats quickly. Cleans easily.
But the S/S
trim scratches easily.

Superb range
i really love this range. Induction is the way to go and this one delivers. The sliding oven racks are about the best I have used. The only thing that could improve this is to have a bevel or something on the front dials. Because they are round its sometimes difficult to get a good grip.

Contemporary induction range, 30-inch
We've had this new F&P induction range for about six weeks. We're very happy with our purchase. We've had induction before and knew what to expect. The induction burners work great. They heat up fast and are easy to control.
The oven is fantastic. Heats more evenly than any oven we've ever used. There are many different options for controlling the top, bottom and aero (convection) heating elements. The oven racks slide in and out effortlessly.
Our only criticisms are that the timer beeper volume is too low (impossible to hear). We would prefer the largest burner be on the front. You have to be careful to not scratch the stainless steel edge when taking items out of the oven and placing them on the stove top.
Overall we're very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend this brand to family and friends.

Induction range reigns supreme.
Wow! This is the second Fisher & Paykel appliance that we purchased and my wife was completely blown away be the many different oven settings and the ability to switch from convection to regular baking, the special settings for pizzas and roasting, the true bake vs aero bake function, broil vs aero broil, rapid proof and aero pastry functions, self clean function, the large capacity oven with two slide out racks and the warming drawer underneath the oven. That's really just half of it though. The induction cook top is amazing with the rapid heat function and different size burners, which by the way heat the contents of your pot or pan rather than the stove top so when you take your food off of the stove the surface cools rapidly. Also, the flat ceramic surface is so easy to simply wipe clean. My wife used to always complain about removing heavy grates in order to clean our gas range, she never complains about wiping off the surface of her new induction range. So what can I say, WE LOVE IT!

Great…..but noisy fan
We love it. Only issue is the noisy cooling fan following use of the oven.

Fisher Paykel 30" Contemporary Induction Range
I have owned the FP 30" contemporary induction range for about a month now. I switched to induction after 40+ years of gas mostly to reduce fossil fuel use. While our home's electricity is still coming from coal-fired power plants, we do have solar panels that provide electricity as well - so energy efficiency is important to me. My previous gas ranges have been very simple (which I like) so I find the gadgetry of all new ranges (not just FP) a bit over the top. I have found the induction cooktop to be just as responsive as my gas cooktops -- I really like that.
A few comments/examples of gadgetry:
1) all 4 indicator lights for the cooktop burners light up when I turn on 1 burner and stay lit the entire time. And, there's a beep when a burner is turned ON and a beep when a burner is turned OFF. Would prefer just the indicator light for the burner being used would turn on and eliminate the beeps. 2) I read a lot about oven and cooktop cooling fans prior to buying this range. I was a bit surprised when the cooktop cooling fan is triggered as it sometimes seems unnecessary. On a positive note, this fan is very quiet - like a computer fan. The oven fan comes ON immediately upon turning on the oven and doesn't turn off until at least 10 minutes (sometimes 20 min) after turning it off. I find it quite loud and distracting (I'm used to a quiet house & kitchen). The fan blows cold air (then warm air as the oven heats up) out the top of the oven door. If I'm stirring something on the cooktop, the oven fan is blowing air up my shirt and actually is strong enough to move papers around on the counter almost 5' away. I crack the oven door now to get the oven to cool down and the fan to turn off as soon as possible. I wish the oven fan was as quiet as the cooktop fan. 3) I looked for a range that had an oven light switch on the outside of the range - one I could turn on/off as needed -- very hard to find (and it seems so simple). At least FP allows you to turn off the oven light through a settings option -- so if I'm running my oven for an hour or two I don't have to have the light on the entire time. FP also has an option to turn off some of the other sounds -- not sure what they are but I turned them off first thing. Assume it might be sounds for when the oven comes to temp but there's an indicator light and a temp readout for that. 4) As other reviewers have mentioned, the cooktop burner arrangement could be better. I would have preferred the smallest burner be in the back instead of the largest burner. And, I find if I am using 2 of my 10" cast iron frying pans, they don't fit well enough to be centered on the left-side front and rear burners.
My top reason for purchasing this range over other induction ranges was the shallow depth. It fits perfectly into my existing space. I hope FP uses this info not as complaints but feedback for future improvements and energy efficiency. Overall, the performance has been fine for both the oven and the cooktop. I would recommend it to others but (do as I did) -- read the entire User Guide first and know what you are purchasing

Powerful machine with a few distinct flaws
My initial response was "Ugh"to the super-noisy, high-pitched whine the oven made. I would turn it on and leave the kitchen if I could. I had a appliance technician look at it. He replaced the fan motor and it is 85% better, but still more noise than I'd like. It blows a great deal of air directly at the cook. Did anyone try this out before putting it into production?
The large burner is in the back which means a long reach over hot cook pots in order to saute or use a large skillet.
Knob placement is non-intuitive. A year in I am still turning on the wrong knob off or on.
Styling is sleek and beautiful and I appreciate the minimized digital readout.
Timer bell is too quiet.
I appreciate the power that both oven and stovetop.
The stovetop is easy to keep clean, but the stainless rim is quite scratched. Not a huge issue.

Induction great, oven fan way too noisy
Our new range was installed a month ago. Love the induction top, no complaints there. The oven fan is way too loud - a higher pitch whine. It is an issue in our home, which has an open design. So it's kind of unacceptable but not sure what I can do at this point. The other odd thing is there is an extra bar above the cook top controls that is not shown in any of the photos. I don't understand the point of it and it makes it difficult to see the controls. We picked the Fisher Paykel with the hopes we can get good service since we had to replace our KitchenAid range because we couldn't get a part. So we shall see.
