I found the Frigidaire 20 cu ft freezer at a trusted local appliance store for the right price. It’s energy star, which the ancient one was not, and I now have 5 more cubic feet of space. It runs nearly silently, which I like. The initial setting recommended on the freezer actually keeps the freezer below zero by 2-4 degrees, so I was able to adjust it, which is nice because now I can save a little more energy. I wouldn’t expect to run into problems this early in the game, and haven’t, fortunately. I also, however, bought the 5-yr warranty through my appliance store which also offers spoilage coverage if something catastrophic happens. So 🤞🏼. Shelves are easy to adjust and have much more support than my old freezer. I have mixed feelings about the basket having such a low front. I would have preferred it to be another inch or two higher. The LED light is nice and bright and I like the solidness of the door close so I don’t have to worry about it not closing and staying closed. I disliked the registration sticker that was on the inside door. It was at least 6” in diameter, and hard to take off. I was afraid of scratching the inner door when removing it, but with care was finally able to remove it. That could be changed or improved. The wheels allow more movement to the left or right than I expected, which is a plus. I wouldn’t mind a wheel lock on one of the wheels because it can slide slightly when trying to leverage open that solidly sealed door. That may change when I have more in the freezer. Overall a definite “A” grade so far.
