I love this refrigerator/freezer! Well laid out and beautiful appliance. The door hinges are my favorite part in that opening the door does not need a great amount of extra clearance on the sides of the unit.

Much like our previous 25 year-old GE Profile.
This model is very much like the 25 year-old GE Profile refrigerator which it is replacing. Our old fridge was still working, but the motor inside of the compressor unit had broken loose and made a clunking noise each time the motor stopped. Never a problem with anything except replacing light bulbs from time-to-time. My new GSS25IYNFS has a few less "options" that made our old one a Profile. I like that we can see the temperature settings/actuals without looking inside the machine. The same ice maker design that my old fridge had is in this new one. The interior lighting is nice and bright in this new model. My original unit did not have smudgeproof stainless. We were always wiping it down. This new model has smudgeproof stainless doors and this stuff is a miracle. This is still a nice refrigerator that still contains most of the engineering of my old, carefree, 25 year-old Profile. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Great features, but no filter bypass.
So far so good. We go through a bit of ice and so far this has kept up with our drink consumption in the summer. Good capacity and layout, 3rd drawer in fridge that a lot of other models seem to leave out now for cheese and lunch meat. Only con so far is that it doesn't come with a filter bypass, who doesn't have R.O. these days? And you either have to get their expensive filters or find a bypass that has the chip in it. I tried emailing to get a bypass but no response, they sure are persistent about getting a review though.

Nice with a few caveats
It's very nice but I would have liked a white one but white doesn't come with a deli drawer. WHAT??. Just a few more caveats. The side of the refrigerator is not stainless steel. It's black so a bit daunting in my galley kitchen. The bottom shelf on the door is not full depth. It's where I kept my wine so now some is in the bottom cooler and some on the top shelf because of the height of the bottles. I stole the can rack from my previous refrigerator because the new one didn't have one. Take a picture of your current frig and take it with you when purchasing a new one. You won't regret it!!

Purchased this to replace an older Kenmore 25cu ft unit. This GE seems to have more space inside compared to my previous one. Must just be a more efficient layout. Lots of good features on this one to like. LED lighting is excellent. Like the way it ramps up instead of instant full brightness. The lighting for the in-door ice and water is handy as well. My only negative might be that the in-door dispenser is not quite tall enough for large cups. Hope this one lasts 20+ years like my previous one.

Great fridge!
I read a lot of the bad reviews like it’s too loud or that it doesn’t hold a temperature, I never experienced any of that so it makes me question those reviews. Or maybe they were just unlucky and got a bad unit, who knows. So far it’s a great refrigerator. Very roomy and the led lights are nice and bright where I can see everything. My old fridge had very dim lights and it was a pain to find things sometimes. One other bad review I read was the water filters are expensive and they are. But I plan on ordering the water bypass plug because I live in Alaska where the tap water is as good as bottled water so no need for the filter. Overall I’m happy with this purchase and would recommend it. It’s a well made quality refrigerator.
