Great helper
We had a large dog, with very long hair, lots of shedding. We run our Roomba 690 three times a week. Our home is 2244 sq. ft. We named the vacuum Ruby, because it is a gem. We have had it four years. It runs and runs and runs. I do have to clean the brush and roller, as well as the guide wheel frequently, due to the dog hair. In fact, I choose to clean it everyone the vacuum runs. It might take 10 minutes to clean it thoroughly, but I do the same with my canister vac. They perform better and last longer if you take care of them. If my Roomba dies, I will. buy another. They are a great vacuum and the one time I required assistance the service was outstanding.

Thought it didn't work but it does!
My home is 100yrs old so it has 'features' that give robots fits. I had placed the barrier on the wall behind the feature I wanted roomba to avoid. And I placed it about 3in off the ground to keep it out of the way things like pets, children, feet, etc. Bad idea. The beam spreads outwards very well, but not down as well so the effect was very hit or miss. I moved it down to be level with the floor (and roomba's line of sight), and the it's perfect now. No more roomba, "error. Pls move roomba to a new location" messages at 6 in the morning. And, yes, there are minimal directions which was a bit off putting. However, it really is as simple as removing it from the box, inserting the batteries that come with it, and using to switch to select the mode (halo or beam). Then just place it in the location.

Works Great!!
Works perfect to keep my roomba out of my office area! Dont understand all the negative reviews. Simple to operate, just have to make sure the beam is pointing in the right direction.

Works perfectly so far.
When we got our Roomba i3 we saw right away that there was at least one area that we needed to keep the vacuum away from, and that was the vertical blinds for our sliding glass door. No matter if we had the blinds open or closed, the Roomba would bash them pretty hard, and we were afraid that over time they would be damaged. So far, the Virtual Wall Barrier seems to have solved that problem completely. As long as it continues to work as it is working now, we will be very happy. $60.00 USD seemed like a lot of money for this little thing, but it has solved a pretty big problem.

I bought a second one after the first. Works great
I bought my first one because I had a converted Florida room that had a step down. The sensor has worked really well with zero issues. I bought a second one because my Roomba kept getting stuck under one piece of furniture. It has worked well for that as well.

Virtual Wall
For the folks that say the virtual wall doesn't work, do you have it turned in the right direction? The switch is on the BACK. The other (FRONT) side has to be pointed at the area you want to protect.

LOVE IT! Not perfect (but neither am I) Be lost without it!!
My Roomba runs daily and I don't know where all the dirt comes from after just one day. Plus it keeps my floors pet-hair and dust-bunny free. The first Roomba is a luxury, but if I ever need to replace it, the second one will be a necessity!

Works great on carpets with a low profile like Persian carpe
Works really well but is constantly getting caught under counters and tables and reclining chairs. Would work better if was 1/2" shouter. Is a real pain to have to find it and pull it out from under where it is tightly wedged.

Works great
We have a open floor plan house on first floor, but it's the kitchen and living room where we get the most traffic and dirt. We use two Virtual Walls To keep our roomba focused just where we need it. They work great. They are small and sleek and hardly noticeable sitting on the floor. Batteries (2 - AA) seem to last about a year, so I only pay attention to them when someone moves them or the battery runs low and our roomba finds her way into new territory.

Wall or Zone
Old VW Zones had that old C battery so I had to buy C to AA adapters. I guess Irobot finally designed a VW Zone that use less power so AA will now work. What a relief no C battery accessories

Love it
Cannot believe the crud this thing picks up, like deeply embedded hair from two dogs ago (miss my golden but apparently she left lots of hair behind). I only wish it had a bigger debris drawer. I see the new ones have a self cleaning option, might invest in that.

Need troubleshooting instructions, will buy again!
Does all my tile floors plus small amount of carpeting. Love George, however, it seems he rams things pretty hard and gets hung up on my S curve chair bottoms, or under couch. Bought the wallbarrier which worked great. Changed batteries and barrier blinks 5 times and stops. Have checked batteries, all good. What next! Another $50.?? ,

Comment re virtual wall.
Both the Roomba 980 and the virtual wall work well. My only issue is that the price of additional virtual wall unit is clearly inflated. It's only a bit more complicated than a flashlight and perhaps a bit less complicated than a radio. $20-25 would seem more palatable.

Planned failure?
I bought a 2 pack of these for $87 3.5 in 2018. Both of them failed at right around 3 years. Planned failure?? This is a very high price point for a fairly simple technology to be failing after this short a period of time. It might be excusable if they cost half as much. Time to step up your game iRobot!

Life span to short
I bought two iRobot 900 series. The units works great, but one of my Dual Mode Virtual Wall Barriers just stopped working. I keep them clean and replaced the batteries, but it just stopped working after only one year of usage. I would expect a longer life span than what I got.

the Virtual Wall does not seem to last
the Virtual Wall does not last long. I haven't used it much but when I took it down and replaced the batteries it didn't work. Seems it needs better workmanship. It cast too much to stop working in a little over a year.

Limited use?
Just bought i3 Evo+, in app for MY vac, I click accessories and this appears, I read, it says not for i3 Evo. I robot is obviously more worried about advancing and not concerned about getting things right, just keep moving forward don't perfect anything, it'll go great. So not smart.

$60 bucks!? Seriously!?
I was going to buy a couple more but at $60 bucks a pop I won't be buying even one. Way to go Roomba, ripping off your customers is a great way to earn our loyalty.

Life too short
One of mine has failed already after about two years. Quick failure and high cost makes for a very poor rating. I am not going to replace at this price.

Sick of junk products from China from
I can't understand the price of this item
How can such simple technology made extremly cheaply in China cost this much? This must be the cheapest plastic that I have ever seen. If I never entered a Dollar Store, I would never thing plastic this cheap can even be manufactured.

Waste of money
These work fine until the batteries get corroded. I've had the same issue with 2 of these. They stop working, I examine them to change the battery and discover that not only are the batteries dead, but they are also corroded inside. Remove corroded batteries, clean inside of barrier carefully with Qtips dipped in alcohol, clean battery terminals, insert new batteries and the unit doesn't work anymore. I can't imagine why batteries would corrode like that. It's not like they were being used outside. I have plenty of other devices that use batteries and don't cause the batteries to corrode when they are used up. Very disappointed with this expensive accessory.

Doesn't work at all
This does nothing. The roomba ignores it. I have to put a chair in front of the fireplace to block my roomba from going into it, even though the wall is on. I've changed the batteries numerous times. It may have worked a couple times at first but after that, never worked again.

Broke in less than a year
My invisible barrier device stopped working in less than a year and customer service says that because it's an "accessory" that the warranty doesn't cover replacement. That's a horrible way to handle the situation. With a company as big as this, and a product as expensive as this, I would've expected not only a better quality product but better customer service.

Useless product, robot ignores virtual wall
I placed the device to block my 600 series robot from constantly trying to go over the stairs and getting stuck on the cliff. The gap to cover is a little over 1 metre, not a large gap but the robot consistently ignores the virtual wall and gets stuck any way

Doesn't Work
My robot runs over the wall barrier. The Roomba doesn't even recognize that the wall barrier exists. I've changed the batteries and troubleshooted online, but it still doesn't work. Just gets plowed down by the Roomba.

Useless and dangerous
Useless. You pay a lot for this product and they send you 2 cheap AA batteries. After not even a month they run out of energy and you find your Roomba stacked somewhere. There's no easy way to know if they are gonna run out of battery an the wall sometimes doesn't work at all.

I would never buy this product again
I only want it to clean up the pine needles that plague my existence. I am constantly sweeping to keep up with an outdoor-loving household, but need help, not another thing to troubleshoot. I have changed the batteries and tried different positioning, all to no avail. Pass. I wonder if the ones from my old Roomba will work... Are they upwardly compatible?
