44 dBA Dishwasher with FreeFlex Third Rack and LED Interior Lighting
Master the mess of making with this dishwasher's three racks of versatile loading possibilities and complete wash coverage. The FreeFlex Third Rack fits glasses, mugs, bowls, silverware and cooking tools, freeing up room below for pots, plates and mixing bowls. Advanced Clean Water Wash System circulates clean water to dishes in all three racks. LED Interior Lighting illuminates inside for easy loading and unloading.

Features

FreeFlex Third Rack
The largest third rack available has a deep, angled design that fits 6" glasses, mugs and bowls. It features rotating wash jets to clean items in the rack, a drying bar with tabs that help wick moisture off glasses and a removable utensil tray for cooking tools.

Fan-Enabled ProDry System
combines a heating element and fan for optimal drying performance. It circulates hot air around dishes after the wash cycle to give them a thorough dry. To activate, select the ProDry Option or Extended ProDry Option.

Advanced Clean Water Wash System
uses microfiltration to continuously remove food particles during the wash and rinse cycles and circulates clean water to dishes in all three racks. This allows dirty cookware and delicate glassware to be washed together in the same load.

ProWash Cycle
uses sensors to measure soil levels throughout the cycle and adapts wash time and water temperature as needed for tough messes or lighter loads, because no two meals or the dishes that result are exactly the same.

The new model is not as whisper quiet as the older model - fairly close, but not as quiet. It cleans very well and KitchenAid did a good job of redesigning the interior racks allowing more items to be washed concurrently - along with taller dishes - something the old model couldn't handle. It also appears to dry dishes better, with the "Extended 'Dry' (fan assisted) option. My only real complaint is the noise compared to the previous model.

There is plenty of light inside and with the three racks it also has plenty of room. I have never found a dirty dish after a wash cycle! The unit is so quiet that you can't even tell it is running unless you go over and look at the control panel. This unit also has an actual drying coil that heat the dishes (most other brands no longer offer this) so they are dry when you open the dishwasher. Using the wash cycle and rinse aid the glasses come out streak free and look like new!! I have had this unit for 3 plus years now and have never had any issues. It's nice to find there are still some quality products out there.

My dishes are sparkling, the unit is quiet, and it's just a lovely piece in my kitchen. What makes this unit especially unique is the third rack that can actually hold glassware. Gone are the days of only being able to put a couple sets of silverware up there. This dishwasher can pack in full sized glassware and coffee cups in that top rack which makes the investment invaluable. I can fit an overflowing sink of dishes entirely in this dishwasher because of it, and they come out perfectly clean every time. I've even recommended it to friends and family members when they come over.I never knew I could love a dishwasher this much.

I had a Viking dishwasher that had to be replaced and bought a Bosch 800. I had the Bosch 800 for about a month and then exchanged for this KitchenAid. The Bosch was nothing but problems. I have not had a single problem with the KitchenAid and it runs quieter than both the Viking and the Bosch.

We run it every day. It's been a workhorse. We use Cascade Platinum Plus pods in it. Those work the best. They are worth the extra money. The finish inside and out of the dishwasher has stayed nice. We use the aerosol stainless steel cleaner with a microfiber cloth on the front. We love that the keyboard is hidden on the top of the door so when you close the door, the keyboard is hidden by the countertop overhang. Options selection is intuitive. We chose the towel bar option (v. recessed handle). It's attractive and sturdy. The handle has not loosed in three years. The three racks are nice. The ability to move up and down the middle rack is often used by us. We love the quietness of this dishwasher. It's in the main part of our kitchen. I often do not know when its running. I have to look for the indicator light on the front to see if it's on. You could easily have a conversation next to this dishwasher. The leak detector automatic shut off worked well for us. The supply line leaked once (not the dishwasher's fault) and the leak detector did its job and shut off the dishwasher to prevent more leakage. We love the light inside. Nice you don't have to blast the kitchen lights to grab a coffee cup out of the dishwasher early in the morning. This dishwasher has a fan assisted dryer. There is an extended dryer option. We always use that. Of course, there is some water one some of the dishes (the indented bottoms of mugs, for example), but for the most part they are dried adequately. Overall, it's been a dependable appliance in our active kitchen.
