A really quiet & effective exhaust
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We installed it easily a week ago and used it several times. The low profile is perfect for our tighter kitchen and it really seems to exhaust well. Tried it searing a brisket and worked very well. Impressed with the quiet efficiency of it.

Nice Range Hood
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice hood, easy to install. I did a custom installation, built the cabinet to fit including recirculating vent. The project came out looking great. The only downside is the hood is noisier than I expected.

What a change
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took out a useless microwave with a recycling exhaust fan and installed the new kitchen aid fan. Normally I do not read instructions, but I found these very helpful. The hardest part was cutting out the the bottom of the existing cabinet and the hole in the top for the vent pipe. Even so I had the unit in and through the ceiling in about an hour and a half. I put in the pipe and insulated it to the roof. I chickened out about cutting a hole in my roof and spent a week trying to find a roofer to put on the roof vent. I can now cook bacon inside and even use the wok without stinking up the house. It was definitely worth the effort.

Love it!
There is nothing not to like about this hood. It's modern and works really well. We have it vented to the outside, so no more smoke in the kitchen. We had a really difficult hood set-up to replace and this was just what we needed. Highly recommend.

Love the Light!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the LED light — so bright. The ease of cleaning the filters and the different settings of the fan are really good features. Fan is so quiet compared to what I had before.

Well built. Horrible installation instructions
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace an older KitchenAid vent damaged by an electrical surge. The unit is very well built and made of quality material. HOWEVER, the installation instructions are horrible. The screws and bolts are not identified with a picture. The bolts to join the upper unit to the lower unit were too short to reach between the two parts. Good luck with the installation. You are on your own. Hope you live close to a hardware store.

quiet, sleek, nice task lights
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted an undercounter hood and I had existing cabinets and traditional hoods were too low. This one fill the need but required significant installation modifications for me. I like the 3 speed fans and its quiet on high compared to my previous microwave vent hood. The task lights are nice with two settings. Wish there was a even a lower settings. Generally I am very pleased and one downgraded one star because it was not easy to install. I wish I could give a 4.5 rating because I like the look and function after installed.

Great range hood quite, but tricky to install.
I would have given this a five start except for the poor install instructions. My cabinet depth is 14" versus the standard 12". A templet would have been very helpful alining the hood and the instructions better explained. After removing the old range hood I had a gap on the back wall. I first had to add tile up the back splash so that after the install the new hood would fit tight against it.
the back wall.

Quiet, effective, very sleek and minimalist
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Must install hood BEFORE tiling backsplash - lower portion of hood will not align with portion in the cabinet if lower portion is not fully back to the sheet rock of the wall. Installation requires patience to follow directions carefully as it is not as simple as attaching a few screws. The bottom panel of the cabinet is cut out. The end result is quiet and sleek and very effective. Lighting is excellent but the manual does state the bulbs have to be changed by a technician. My review would be five stars if installation was easier.

Tricky install, performs great
Kitchen Aid Range Hood
Glad to have bought all Kitchen Aid appliances finally. The Range Hood, as with the others I’d well designed with common sense features, with a few improvements the Range Hood would be easier to install. Firstly the power cord would be best connected at the side of the unit, current position at top was inconvenient for install & location. Secondly the installation bracket segment of the installation instructions is incorrect, position 3 did not work for my 5/8 cabinet so I used position 4 as if it were 3/4 & still needed the washers. The description for step 3 on page 11 is brief but not wrong, the illustration unfortunately confounds everything. Contrary to the illustration I had to notch the bottom of the back of the cabinet so the bracket could be installed higher with the flat section at the base of the lower bracket just beneath the cabinet side panel edges as in pic after install as in pic. I had to remove & redo bracket location 4 times dry fitting everything with the cabinet off the wall to ensure a snug fit. The 4 hooks to suspend the unit until final positioning completed is ingenious but of course complicated the equipment & therefore this part of the installation. Hope this helps!

Install problems
the side brackets for a 30 inch cabinet will not work. the hood is 26 inches wide. So if put the bracket as told on inside flush the space between the two bracket are more than 26 inches. I have seen other reviews to add shims . which I will do. plus will have to cut the bracket at the back to make them fit to go up into the cabinet. This is so uncalled for your company to design it to have to do all these things to fix. Maybe you have put brackets for a 36 inch cabinet in the 30 inch box. I am not one to complain. This is to help you all to fix the problem. I will call when I finish this to see if you have a bracket that will work

Poor instalation instructions
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Product is great the installation manual for those of us who don't do this type of work all the time, is horrible. No mention of the need to shim the sides of the 30 inch cabinet. No illustration in the manual of the installed unit shimmed.
