May require some minor modification to fit
Quality of materials is satisfactory however the trim kit required modification to fit properly. The kit is comprised of a rail system that elevates the microwave and secures it in place - done. The exterior portion of the trim kit frames the microwave and has stabilizing pins on the bottom segment that must fit around the rail system. The inside distance between the stabilizing pins is the same as the outside distance between the rails - tolerance is too tight and required exacto knife trimming of the inside face of both stabilizing pins to fit.

Ugly
As other reviewers wrote, this kit is plastic, and the sides are black, not stainless to match the front. Moreover, the sides, top and bottom have LARGE 15” “slices” taken out, into which you can fit your entire hand. What the heck? If it is for ventilation, surely something more attractive could have been engineered.

Cheap Plastic - Not Stainless Steel as Represented
Expecting product to be made of metal. Instead I discovered it was made of cheap plastic. Looks cheap, feels cheap, is cheap! Unless you are installing it in a rental property, DO NOT buy it.

Terrible
I had to replace my old Kitchenaid microwave, which had its own trim kit. Unfortunately for me, this trim kit is the only suggested trim kit for my microwave. The new trim kit is a couple of inches higher than the old trim kit, and with that it does not fit the cutout in my wall, so now I have to do a little construction work on the cutout. (Since the trims only come in two sizes, why not make them fit in a standard way? Both my old microwave and my new microwave are Kitchenaid, and both the old and new trim kits are 30”.) The opening of the old trim kit does not quite fit the new microwave, as the trim prevents the door from opening, so I cannot use the old trim.
The old trim kit was entirely metal, whereas the new trim is mostly cheap-looking plastic. Unless you’re dead set on having that “built-in” look, i would not recommend this kit. On the other hand, it’s the only one game in town, so Kitchenaid kinda has me over a barrel...
