Working fine for me
The pedestals were installed 3 to 4 weeks ago. The boxes had loose tape which left the flaps open. However, no parts were missing. The bag with the hardware came loose on one of the boxes but fortunately stuck to the slide rails on the outside of the drawer.
The installationn went easily. I did use the shipping bolts on the washer and hired a couple people to install the units.
Now installed for 3 weeks, there are no issues. the drawers work fine, although I'm not storing anything in them. I did install the dividers in the drawers for support. They slide fine. There's no imbalance, or excessive shaking on spin cycle. Everything went well

No ball bearings?
Storage drawers do not slide smoothly; seems to make a scraping sound when drawers are opened or closed

16" GE Pedestals
This is a great product for storage. The 16" Height Capacity is great for storing large bottles of Detergent Products. The other leading Brands could not store the larger product from a height standpoint. However, in spite of this great feature, the GE Pedestal cannot handle much weight. After a week the Pedestal's bottom support brackets fail and cling when opened (Annoying).

Horribly made!
These are absolute garbage! Made most lay of plastic they break easily. Also, if you put anything. Also, if you put anything of any weight like a laundry detergent bottle the supports for the drawer bend and the bottom of the drawer smashes against the bottom part of the frame Creating a very undesirable sound every time you open and close it. I am so aggravated by the pedestal drawers that I am thinking about returning the washer and dryer and buying a different brand.

Need help
The drawer slides broke on both of my pedestals after 3 months of normal use. Hopefully GE will honor the warranty and make this right.

Awful pedestal
Just purchased the GFW550SSNWW model and the only pedestal available for it that has a drawer is this 16" high model. I have standard height cabinets above my washer and dryer connections. Why is this not available in the 13" model??? My last 3 front load washing machines had pedestals that fit. Why does yours have to be so tall or at least provide another shorter option. Most of us don't want to have to remodel our laundry rooms just beacus we purchase your product!!

Wish I didn’t agree with 1 stars
We wanted to love these pedestal drawers. I like the height. I love the idea. But as another reviewer stated, the drawer sags in the middle and makes a terrible clicking sound as it scrapes against the bottom bracket. I emptied the drawer and tried to determine if it was fixable, and now it won’t open and close at all. Like many others, my washer still vibrates terribly - it shakes the downstairs cabinets and the whole house. I wanted to blame HD installers but now I’m wondering if it’s faulty or just poor quality.

Poor Design
Just as others have voice their reviews, I completely agree with all these 1-star reviews. I had exchanged mine for a new one thinking that it was manufacturer defect. How could I not think this when my washer rocks about an inch while switching into spin mode. After installing the replacement and making sure everything was level, it did the same thing as the first one. Called out GE service and the tech basically told me that I'm lucky that I've installed the washer in the basement and not on the second floor because the washer is known to move and the pedistal just amplifies it.
This product needs a complete overhaul in design. Stamped sheet metal with a couple of spot welds just doesn't seem to be enough to hold a 250 lbs (empty) machine.

Drawer won’t open
We bought washer and dryer pedestal bases for our brand new GE machines. Within 6 months the drawer on the base of the washer began to open with difficulty. Now, 10 months later, you have to use all your might to open or close the drawer. The drawer for the dryer glides with no problems. Now we have to wait 4 weeks for a service rep to come out and try to fix or replace it.

Just terrible
Like many other reviews, initially we enjoyed the pedestal. However, despite following the instructions to not put more than 50 pounds in the pedestal, we found after a month or so the plastic was sagging making the drawer extremely hard to open. I'm afraid that sooner or later it's just going to break. What a hunk of junk. We've owned it less than 6 months.

Cheap. Plastic. Junk.
My wife and I purchased a new GE washer & dryer set ("Good Housekeeping Seal approved!) and were excited to find matching, same brand, "bottle height" storage drawer pedestals to set the units on. Well, our excitement turned to dismay as the plastic drawers sag and drag against the pedestal frame due to severe bowing after just a couple months use. While the drawer has an large embossed warning "Do not exceed 50 lbs" I hardly think that one bottle of liquid detergent, one bottle of fabric softener and one bottle of bleach should make these plastic drawers bow and sag as they do. The "clicking" noise when the drawer opens from sagging against the frame member is SO ANNOYING and the plastic now has a permanent memory sag.
It's a shame we can't get quality product from this huge name brand!

Does not work
Bought two pedestals to match washer and dryer. Both have same issue. The drawer trays are made of plastic and do not bear any weight. Put a detergent bottle in the drawer and it will not open / close without hitting the frame. Broken plastic on the floor and drawers that do not function as advertised. Warranty does not apply to accessories and therefore this is absolute junk. Now see other reviews that mention similar issue.

Nice product, but NOT universal
Purchased this for my GE Dryer. First, it's way more complicated than my washer pedestal. Secondly, the holes on my dryer are either not enough (1 instead of 2) or there are no corresponding holes to line up the brackets with.

Faulty design or flawed product
I brought two of these, one to go under a washing machine and the other to go under a dryer. According to GE's website, they are supposed to accommodate the laundry products (including larger additive bottles). The moment we put anything inside the drawer, the plastic drawer base hits the frame of the pedestal. If you put even a small laundry detergent bottle the drawer makes a horrible clanking noise as you open it and close it. If you put a single family sized laundry detergent bottle in the drawer it will not open or shut. It makes the pedestals pretty much useless. Technician says he cannot fix it because it's a design flaw.

Drawers are Poor quality
I love my GE Ultra washer and dryer but the GE pedestial GFP1528SNWW look great but Pedestal drawers function poorly, Just with a single detergent bottle and the bottom scrubs and leaves plastic residue under washer and dryer. There is no support for the bottom of the drawers. I looked back at older versions and they have a cross bar to keep the floor bottom from dragging....Any suggestions?
