Save yourself the New Lock (make yours smart)
A few years ago at my own place, I bought the other smart rock and enjoyed it. Then I moved to a more expensive place that already had smart locks in the door. Now that I’m in my new townhouse this is perfect for retrofitting my front door. Anyone who has the specific type of deadbolt which most to have in their apartment and home Then you’re good to go. This is five minutes of work at most.

Amazing job!
I was so hesitant to this for months, finally my roommate installed it and I couldn’t be happier! So easy especially when your hands are full and the door just opens! No more fumbling your keys or putting heavy stuff down! Can even open it remotely and see exactly when the door opens! LOVE IT !

Smart Locks are awesome
I will say buy the keypad with it.
For me, batteries last about 2-3 months depending on how many people are coming and going.
The app with lock sometimes lags, which isn't most ideal, but ive had this lock for over 3 years and love it.

Safe and convenient!
I have had the August lock for over a year now. It has been super convenient. I have not had any problems with this lock. It uses two lithium batteries that last quite a while. I always keep extra for when they need to be changed. I have had to let people in my house while I’m not home and I can just go on the app and push the button and let them in remotely! I highly recommend this product!

This is our second August lock. Our gen 1 lasted several years. We repurposed it to the garage and went with a gen 4 with wifi. Love the auto lock feature and the unlock as we get close to the door.

August lock works great
We love the way the lock works, we have the lock set to lock after 30 minutes just in case we forgot it has never failed.
The only issue I have is it uses a lot battery’s, I increase the WiFi coverage in the home with a hold home coverage it still uses a lot of battery’s.

I LOVE my August lock!
This is the second August lock I’ve installed. The apartments we live at don’t allow us to install other locks - they have master keys for all locks for safety. Using August meant the lock didn’t have to change, but it made it super easy to forget about keys because we (adults and kids) just use the August keypad (bought separately) or the mobile app to open the door.

Amazing lock
It was a bit challenging to get up and running due to the deadbolt that we had, nothing to do with the lock. Once we set everything up it was all up hill from there.
