Here's what I did: plugged them into my phone Went to youtube (The Cure, live at Pinkpop) Tapped the control closest to my ear. Adjusted the phone Sound Setting, turned on System Sounds. Cranked the volume using volume up/down control on my phone. Music will stop if you have a phone call and automatically pick up where it left off when the call is complete. The clarity is so pure.
