Wish they gave veterans a bigger discount

It converted me from a shark guy
So I've had sharks for years and loved them. When the shark apex with the aero m no hair wrap roller came out I of course bought it because I have a Newfoundland so vacuuming my house daily is necessary. That "zero m" roller got more fur stuck on it than any vaccuum I've ever had. Then within a year small things started breaking. The lights quit working, the belt got jammed, the clip that lets you take the head apart to clean it broke, and then it just stopped working all together. Mind you that was their newest most expensive model when I bought it. Called a local repair shop and was told they don't repair sharks anymore because you can't. Apparently they stopped using screws and use all clips now meaning you can't take them apart without breaking the clips and then you can't replace those so it never goes back together. Was told that by numerous places. That being said I figured it was time to try a different brand. Went to the store and landed on this model. It is SOOOO much better! The no wrap roller literally works fantastically. I've never had to de fur it! It's also quieter and easier to push and the self winding cord is a definite plus. So I guess I'm a Bissell guy now. No regrets. Thank you Bissell for making a vacuum that actually does what is says it will do!

Great buy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The vacuum is great! Easy to put together and easy to use! I cleaned my whole apartment in minutes! The cord is so long too! I only had to change plugs when I moved rooms and honestly I probably could have squeaked by without even doing that if I really tried. The swivel on it makes it so easy to get into and under everything and I'm excited to get to try out the extension pieces next time. The different features for different floor types is fantastic too. And the features that stops the vacuum from spinning when I bring it upright is a great idea #sweepstakes

On par with Dyson & Shark, but only Bissell benefits animals
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great vacuum. Like the other comments, the con is that the cord is short-ish. Otherwise: has headlights, retractable cord is a nice addition, more than adequate power, great on hardwood and can switch with a button on the handle to carpet, bagless, modern brush technology. It does what you need it to do: it vacuums like a champ. I'm a lifetime husky and GSD person, my current pack consists of 3 Siberian husky rescues and 1 103lb GSD rescue. They all shed. A LOT. I have had Dyson and Shark and had been buying Shark because frankly, Shark is as good as Dyson and much cheaper. Then I adopted one of my current huskies from a shelter and the adoption was paid for/sponsored by Bissell. I had no idea. I of course donated triple the normal cost of the adoption and immediately researched Bissell's shelter work. I'm sold for life now and am spreading the word far and wide to only buy Bissell. Bissell is as good as Shark and while I do think Bissell tends to cost a bit more (which is why I had been buying Shark), you can get 20% deals on the Bissell website throughout the year, which equalizes any potential price differences. As someone with lots of hairy dogs and 3 properties (so I might sometimes use my house vacuum as a shop vac if I don't have a shop vac handy...), I vacuum a lot and can attest to this being a great vacuum.

I would buy another vacuum like this again.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We use this product to clean both the kitchen floor and also the carpet in the great room. It also has been used to clean the hardwood floor in the dinning room and entryway. We have one cat and the amount of cat hair we pick up is amazing. It has much better suction than our old canaster vacuum. We only have two negative things to say. We wish the cord was up higher on the vacuum. It tends to get in the way. Also, the swivel handle is a nice feature but can hurt your wrist if you are not careful.

Best vacuum ever for pets!

This vacuum is light. It's so easy to dump. Things snap on and off crazy easy. I have had friends comment how does your house not smell like cats? I love animals but don't want my house smelling like one.
