Best dishwasher I've ever owned. I love having the third rack although I wish it was adjustable to increase the flexibility. Does an excellent job getting dishes clean and is extremely quiet. Silverware basket could be larger but the third rack does help with that. Would highly recommend!

It is by far the quietest machine I've ever owned. If it wasn't for the light on the floor telling me it's on, I would think it's off. The controls are easy to use and the options numerous. My dishes come out clean every time. I'm also loving the top third rack for small items and silverware.

Best Dishwasher I have ever had
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher is so quiet I can put my ear next to the door and not hear anything. I wasn't sure if I would like the 3rd rack but I lovebit. It is so flexible to load and it is easily adaptable for loading a variety of things. The same thing applies to The lower racks. I can fit so much because I can adjust everything. The dishes come out spotless and when the rinse aid is low, I get a message to remind me.

Extremely quiet! Spacious and easy to organize!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our 10+ year old dishwasher developed a slow leak and we decided to replace it rather than having it repaired. I've done appliance reliability research for a long while and Bosch was consistently named as one of the top reliable brands. Looking into Bosch dishwashers, I found the 500 series dishwasher being one of the quietest on the market. So, we ordered it and after watching a few videos on installation, I installed it myself. And WOW, the test wash was SO QUIET! The water draining into the sink's garbage disposal is the loudest part of its operation by far! Now we can run our dishwahser after dinner and watch a movie without having to turn the volume up loud.
Another benefit is the utensil rack at the very top. No more utensil caddy taking space away from adding more dishes! And my wife loves the orderly way you can lay out spoons, forks, knives, and chopsticks. We are thus far happy with our Bosch dishwasher!

Forgot we ran it....
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had a number of dishwashers, of various manufacturer's, and all claimed to be quiet & efficient. Well, after many discussions with her friends, my wife * I decided we needed a more quiet machine. Her friends reccommended Bosch. One of their quotes was "if the light wasn't on, we wouldn't know it was running".
I myself decided to download a Decibel meter onto my to check our current machine. 38-43 dbs. But I have to say, didn't seem like that. So we looked at a number of washers and based on my wife's friends comments, picked Bosch. Decided on the 500 series, since the 800 was considerably more, and we didn't need all the bells and whistles that offered. But we did like the layout of the racks, and having 3, especially the flatware tray on top is my favorite. It leaves the flatware cleaner than the basket, in my opinion.
But the best part, is that it is truely the quietest dishwasher we have owned, and very happy with our choise. And regarding the Dbs, when tested with the same app, at or below 28 dbs, or quiet, on the meter. And such sometimes now, "we forgot we ran it"....
Thank you Bosch for the quiet engineered into this machine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our old dishwasher was noisy and didn't clean well. Our search for a replacement lead us to Bosch and we couldn't be more pleased. The Bosch DW is quiet (yes, that light is sometimes needed to see that it is still running). And, although we were skeptical, we put in dirty pots that we previously washed by hand. To our delight, those pots came out clean. Although we could have purchased a cheaper dishwasher, the performance and quiet of the Bosch 500 dishwasher was well worth the price.

Excellent Dishwasher
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently installed this dishwasher to replace a 15 year-old GE. The new dishwasher cleans and dries very well. Everything gets very clean, and the only items that don't get fully dry are plastics. I haven't tried using a rinse aid yet, but that's supposed to help with drying plastics. I also appreciate the excellent dish racks and the silverware tray. Last but not least, this machine is really quiet. I can barely hear it as it runs through a full cycle.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would have given 5-stars but the instructions in the user guide does not properly show how to place the rinse aid in the compartment! There are multiple holes...which hole do you place the rinse in? I tried one and it came right out below the dispenser, the other one..not sure what occured, some came out at the bottom as well.
Installer left a part on the counter(husband moved it) that I just found and the kick plate (?) under the door, is loose on one side - no information on how to secure it. Even the webpage does not have any related information for this.

Not as good as prior Bosch (SHX99A15UC)
We replaced a SHX99A15UC with this model. While the noise ratings are very similar (44dB for the SHX99A15UC, 38dB for this one), in practice this unit lets a lot more water-hitting-pans noise out of the case. The motor may be quiet, but the sound insulation on the doors and case apparently are not as good.
The bottom rack tine orientation is complete rubbish compared to the prior unit. We cannot work out how to get the same loads in that we used to put into the bottom rack of the old unit.
The WiFi, as noted, is not useful. I tried putting it on a guest network and I think that blocks some port it wants to use, but I don't really need or want the feature so I'm happy to leave it off.
Can't recommend. Big letdown.

Purchasing this dishwasher was an expensive mistake. I would say that this dishwasher holds 1/2 the capacity of my Kenmore and this is due to the way the tines are set up. The tines in the front of the dishwasher run perpendicular to the tines in the back half of the dishwasher. Loading an oversized cutting board or platter, etc. interferes with the space in the front half of the dishwasher. And if you have several cutting boards that you've used throughout the day, which we always do, you lose the space in the front half of the bottom shelf. There is room in the bottom left lower rack to stand TWO bowls on their side. If you load bowls anywhere else, they flop over and this limits the space you have to load other dishes. My expectation is that I can load my dishwasher with several cutting boards, dinner plates, lunch plates and different-sized bowls, mugs, glasses and large utensils. NO WAY. The top shelf is not that bad but it is difficult to load anything other than glasses. Never room for large utensils (spoons, spatulas, etc.). I'm getting used to the silverware tray but it takes way too much time to load silverware because it has to be placed and spaced properly so that the pieces stand on their side and don't flop over. My preference is to scoop up a handful of silverware from the sink and plop it in a basket...I don't want to fuss with dirty silverware and you have to fuss with this tray design. Once you start loading the silverware in the top tray, there is no room to load larger utensils. The tiny silverware basket is practically useless. I have yet to load an average-sized saucepan because I never have any room to put it.
I think it cleans ok. I have noticed that the inside of the door is always spotty with dried drips after the cycle completes. This happens with and without rinse aid. My glasses are clear when the cycle is done. I will say my stainless steel silverwear seems to be dulling. I have to get out "The Pink Stuff" cleaner to shine things up, which I never had to do before, and I don't want to do.
I will say it is very quiet.
I never thought to closely examine the inside of this machine before I bought it. I'm washing many more dishes than I want to since buying this dishwasher simply because the dishes we use throughout the day don't all fit in it.

Works fine, but shouldn’t have an app
The dishwasher is fine. Cleans well. It dries things decently, but not the best. The utensil basket is very small. The worst part is the app. I don’t know who in marketing thought it was a good idea, but no one needs an app for their dishwasher. It's just purely annoying. If you want certain features, like delayed start, you need the app. It's just kind of mind boggling that someone approved this. I would recommend a previous model or another model without the app. If they left our phones alone and ditched the app, this would be a 4/5 star review.
