Great Sound Bar
This soundbar is a great choice for small to medium-sized rooms, delivering surprisingly powerful sound and bass for its size. While the vocal clarity is good, there's room for improvement. Pairing it with a Bose Bluetooth headset dramatically enhances the experience for late-night movies and gaming. Though I wish the app offered more fine-tuning options for audio enthusiasts, this soundbar is still a fantastic product overall.

Compact, Powerful, and Easy to Set Up!
I live in a 750 sq. ft. one-bedroom apartment, and this Bose soundbar has been an incredible addition to my space. The size and sound are ideal for smaller areas, and the installation was effortless—it took no time at all to set up. I use the soundbar for at least six hours every day, primarily for streaming music, gaming, and watching shows, and I’ve found the sound quality, especially for music, to be fantastic. It’s now my go-to listening device.
One feature that really enhances the experience is the option to connect Ultra Open Earbuds, which add an extra level of immersion and quality. I also appreciate how seamlessly this soundbar integrates into my home setup—it’s perfect for a bedroom or smaller living room. For larger living rooms with premium TVs, I’d recommend considering the Bose Ultra Soundbar for an even more enhanced experience, but this soundbar still performs extremely well for the average user.
While I do wish it came in white to match my apartment decor, that’s a small detail compared to the overall experience. It delivers impressive sound quality in a compact, easy-to-use package. These results will differ from person to person, but for most users, this soundbar is an excellent choice.

Sleek and Packed with Powerful Sound
I've been using the soundbar for a couple of weeks now and I can honestly say that it's made my home theater experience a lot more involved and fun.
First, like many of Bose's products, this is a very cool looking product. I trust Bose to create beautiful hardware and this soundbar is no exception. I love the sleek form factor and its compact size is a perfect addition to my TV stand. It would be nice to have some kind of light indicator for volume but it's not a deal breaker since I can keep track of all of that via the mobile app.
The sound quality is incredible. Whether I'm listening to streaming music or using the soundbar with my Apple TV or with my PS5, I'm blown away with how customizable sound can be. Dialog mode is a great tool to use across different streaming apps to help regulate sound levels and make it easier to understand movies and tv shows.
I haven't experienced any connection issues with my eARC connection yet, which is a welcomed experience after using some less than reliable soundbars from other companies in the past.

Excellent quality sound bar for the price! Though it's not quite as powerful as you might expect from Bose it still goes above cheaper options on terms of the app and sound quality. The remote is TINY and I find myself using the app on my phone for control vs the remote as I feel it's just too small. That being said the app is super easy to use and I really enjoy the settings you can do on it.

Underwhelming at higher volumes
As a long-time user of Bose products, I approached this soundbar with high expectations, given Bose’s reputation for delivering premium audio experiences. While the sound quality is generally good, I found it slightly underwhelming at higher volumes, though this might be expected from a compact soundbar of this size.
One of the standout features of this soundbar is its AI-driven dialogue enhancement technology, which truly shines when streaming content from platforms like Netflix and Paramount. The dialogue clarity is notably crisp, making it easy to catch even the most subtle conversations in movies and shows.
When setting it up with my Samsung TV, the installation process was smooth but required the HDMI ARC to be correctly detected, which may take a bit of troubleshooting for some users.
The soundbar offers basic EQ adjustments, allowing you to tweak the bass, treble, center, and height channels. However, the EQ options are somewhat limited, especially for users who enjoy fine-tuning their audio experience. Despite this, the soundbar compensates with its impressive overall performance, particularly while streaming movies, playing games where the audio becomes much more immersive and full-bodied.
Though the customization options could benefit from some enhancement, the hardware itself delivers a solid, reliable sound that most users will appreciate, especially in medium-sized rooms.

We're sold on Bose! Better than expected!
We've been using this soundbar and earbuds for about 2 weeks now. At 1st I wasn't impressed UNTIL I fully understood how they worked in conjunction with each other and adjusted some settings.
My wife and I both agree this soundbar is almost better than our Roku 5.1 surround sound. Doesn't have the bass our Roku surround sound has because it doesn't have a subwoofer, which is something we plan on adding in the future to the Bose soundbar, and probably some satellite speakers.
The immersive audio is very impressive on the Bose soundbar. It is even better with the earbuds, but to me they're an inconvenience. I personally would rather have satellite speakers. I can definitely understand folks using the earbuds in smaller spaces that don't have the room for satellite speakers or for nighttime use to keep noise levels down.
Music and movies sound great, but again, missing a bit from no subwoofer or satellite speakers. Still fantastic sound like you would expect from Bose.
All in all, we're going to retire or Roku 5.1 surround sound and slowly build up our Bose system.
I like it's compact size a lot! We had to put or Roku soundbar behind our tv due to it's size. The Bose Smart Soundbar can literally go to the edge of our entertainment center shelf and not block the tv at all. That's a huge plus.
Can't forget about the AMAZING AI Dialog feature! Makes it much easier to hear folks on the tv speaking, especially when there is a lot of background noise in the shot.
Overall a great budget soundbar that we look forward to building on!

Almost amazing!
The Bose Smart Soundbar is just a hair shy of being amazing. It is packed FULL of features from Alexa and Google Assistant support to built in support for all of the top music apps like Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, and more! It looks amazing with it's elegant sleek design and it's incredibly easy to setup.
The Soundbar works with the existing Bose app and has full features to adjust your audio preferences, play music, and enable features. It includes AI Dialogue detection, which levels the volume when people are speaking. It does a really great job at this and really improves the experience.
My favorite feature is that you can pair them with the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds for personal surround sound. This works really well for rooms that don't or can't have additional satellite speakers. By pairing the earbuds and enabling Personal Surround sound it creates a fully immersive audio experience that's comfortable for long periods of time. It's truly an unreal experience.
However, there is one thing the soundbar is lacking: Bass. The audio quality from the soundbar for normal TV watching falls a little flat. It is an upgrade to having no soundbar at all, but it sounds a little "tinny" even after adjusting the audio settings. The audio quality did improve when watching a show on AppleTV+ with Dolby Atmos support and with certain 4k movies. Music from Spotify, YouTube Music, and Tidal all sound really great as well!
The fix for everyday TV watching is to either use the Ultra Open Earbuds constantly or invest in the Bose subwoofer and additional speakers.

Nice Soundbar With A Few Exceptions
The Smart Soundbar is a new mid-range product from Bose. The overall profile of the soundbar is low and sleek, allowing a user to place the soundbar right in front of their TV without the worry of it blocking any sensors affecting the TV remote control. On the top of the soundbar the power and mute buttons are flush with the system. With the size of the soundbar and the sound quality, I feel it is best suited for TV’s 50” and below. Mine is set up on a Sony 65” X90J and at times the sound seems to be somewhat underwhelming.
The soundbar is a simple plug and play. I didn’t have to reprogram any remotes or have my Sony TV search for the soundbar. Once the Bose app found the soundbar on my Wi-Fi, I was up and running.
Streaming music with either Bluetooth or Airplay was a bit of a challenge as there is no equalizer on the Bose app to open up the soundbar. Selecting the AI dialogue mode does help with the clarity and adjusting the bass, treble.
Watching live TV or streaming gives a clean, crisp overall sound. This is where the AI dialogue shines, but again, you will have to adjust the bass and treble to your preferred settings. There are no presets via the app. You can make modifications using the remote control or the Bose app.
Overall, the soundbar is a nice entry to mid-level soundbar for a smaller TV. I think it would work well in a small bedroom or even on a desk if one didn’t want to use PC speakers.
Pros – Small, sleek, mid-range soundbar
For smaller areas
Easy set up
Works with all remotes
Cons – Lacking bass

Solid Budget Entry Option for Bose
Overall rating for a budget entry is fantastic. The speech AI feature makes listening to shows on Streaming Channels a dream. The only reason this is not a 5 is because listening to music emphasizes some EQ issues where the high mids/higher frequencies sound a bit spacey or washed out. The low end is capable for the size of the unit and so this will be a welcome addition to anyone's gaming set up, secondary TV/guest room. Adding the earphones as the "surround" option really adds an immersive experience to the sound bar.

The soundbar is compact, but still produces decent sound output. There are some cool features like an AI voice feature that allows voices to come out more clearly, and one that adjusts the sound profile if it's mounted. Music comes out clearly, and casting to it is simple. For video streaming, I wish it sounded like a more broad soundstage as it can sound a little tinny, but little musical flourishes do come through.
