Overview

Bose Smart Soundbar HDMI ARC Dolby Atmos with Alexa Built-in and Works With Google Assistant Capabilities

When movies, TV, and music are your passion --- you don't want to just watch. That's why there's the Bose Smart Soundbar with shockingly immersive sound for its size. Dolby Atmos and Bose TrueSpace technology separate instruments, dialogue, and effects, then place them throughout the room. Even overhead. It's a captivating sound experience that goes beyond simply watching. Having a hard time hearing what your favorite characters are saying? A.I. Dialogue Mode automatically balances voice and surround sound for ultra-crisp vocal clarity.

Features:

Ultra-crisp dialogue clarity.
Having a hard time hearing what your favorite characters are saying? A.I. Dialogue Mode balances voice and surround sound for ultra-crisp vocal clarity. Watching an action movie? A.I. Dialogue Mode enhances the clarity of conversations while ensuring the roaring engines don't drown out what's important.

Only TrueSpace elevates it all.
Dolby Atmos is great for elevating the sound experience of certain movies and TV. But most content isn't Atmos-encoded. For full immersion all the time, there's Bose TrueSpace technology. No matter what you're watching, TrueSpace intelligently analyzes signals other than Dolby Atmos, like stereo or 5.1, and upmixes them to create an immersive multi-channel sound experience. Instruments, dialogue, and effects are separated, then placed around the room.

Big-time tech for a small soundbar.
It wouldn't be a Bose smart soundbar if it weren't packed full of technology. The acoustic architecture of Smart Soundbar squeezes five transducers --- including two that fire upward --- into its compact frame. They all work together to spread sound around your room: horizontally left, right, and forward, but most importantly above to reflect off the ceiling.

Streaming. Any way you want.
If you can get it on your phone, you can hear it through the Bose Smart Soundbar. And no matter what you stream, it all sounds deep and rich. Connect to Wi-Fi to access integrated music services and internet radio stations through the Bose app. Or stream songs and video with Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, or Chromecast built-in. It's your entertainment --- you choose how you stream it.

Personal Surround Sound. Theater-like immersion.
Now you can pair the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds (sold separately) with your soundbar to add new dimension to your movies and TV. Acting as rear surround speakers for the individual user, they combine a unique open-ear design with breakthrough Bose Immersive Audio to add another rich layer to the sonic experience your soundbar delivers. And because it's from Bose, you'll enjoy the deep, rich (and in this case, personal) sound you need to feel the onscreen action.

Complete control with voice, remote, or app.
For voice control, Amazon Alexa capabilities are built-in, so all you have to do is say the word. Plus, proprietary Voice4Video technology expands your Alexa voice capabilities like only a Bose soundbar can. In addition to your Bose smart soundbar, you can control your TV and cable/satellite box with just your voice. Or use your Smart Soundbar with a compatible Google device to access Works With Google Assistant features. There's also an included remote and the Bose app, which gives you quick access to your music.

More sound. In more rooms.
Smart Soundbar is just one way to fill your home with music. Group it with other Wi-Fi-enabled Bose speakers and soundbars for a seamless, whole-home audio experience. That could mean different songs in different rooms, or the same song throughout.

Private --- or party --- listening.
If "smart" doesn't exactly describe your home, you can still connect Smart Soundbar with compatible Bose Bluetooth speakers and headphones with Bose SimpleSync.* Want to watch TV but not disturb others? Pair your soundbar with select Bose headphones for a personal TV listening experience. Or do you want to add even more sound? Pair your soundbar with select Bose Bluetooth speakers.

Bose SimpleSync
Pairing your Bose Smart Soundbar to compatible Bose products is now easier than ever with updated SimpleSync technology. Away from your phone? No app, no problem. Press and hold the Bluetooth button on each device to group and sync their sound for audio that follows you from room to room. You can now also connect your Bose Smart Soundbar to a pre-existing group or smart device at a moment's notice by pressing the Action button on the connecting device.

Want more punch? Add more power.
The Bose Smart Soundbar delivers full immersion all on its own. But you can still add to the experience to make up for any limitations in your space or for a more theater-like experience. Dial up low-end fullness with a wireless bass module or take spaciousness to another level with surround speakers. Or add both to round out a full home theater system.

An app is all it takes.
From guided setup to choosing all your preferences, the Bose app is the key to all Smart Soundbar has to offer. Connect the soundbar to your TV using either HDMI eARC/ARC or the optical audio connection (both cables are included) and hook it up to power. The Bose app walks you through the rest. You can then set up voice control and Voice4Video, manage Bose Wi-Fi-enabled products, update software, and browse all your music in one place.

Small, sleek soundbar.
This elegant and compact soundbar measures 27.5" wide (69.5 cm) by 2.25" (6 cm) tall and fits perfectly under any TV. Or choose the optional bracket to mount it on your wall (sold separately). The top surface is a sleek matte black and is complemented by a perforated wraparound metal grille --- all designed to look great in your room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy and so much better than my Samsung soundbar. I bought it about a month ago and it eas easy to setup. The last few days I have had some issues with it not staying hooked up to TV. It might be that had had ot hooked up to the bluetooth and ARC HDMI. I have it only setup now with the ARC HDMI and I believe that might solve the issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sound Bar This soundbar is a great choice for small to medium-sized rooms, delivering surprisingly powerful sound and bass for its size. While the vocal clarity is good, there's room for improvement. Pairing it with a Bose Bluetooth headset dramatically enhances the experience for late-night movies and gaming. Though I wish the app offered more fine-tuning options for audio enthusiasts, this soundbar is still a fantastic product overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact, Powerful, and Easy to Set Up! I live in a 750 sq. ft. one-bedroom apartment, and this Bose soundbar has been an incredible addition to my space. The size and sound are ideal for smaller areas, and the installation was effortless—it took no time at all to set up. I use the soundbar for at least six hours every day, primarily for streaming music, gaming, and watching shows, and I’ve found the sound quality, especially for music, to be fantastic. It’s now my go-to listening device. One feature that really enhances the experience is the option to connect Ultra Open Earbuds, which add an extra level of immersion and quality. I also appreciate how seamlessly this soundbar integrates into my home setup—it’s perfect for a bedroom or smaller living room. For larger living rooms with premium TVs, I’d recommend considering the Bose Ultra Soundbar for an even more enhanced experience, but this soundbar still performs extremely well for the average user. While I do wish it came in white to match my apartment decor, that’s a small detail compared to the overall experience. It delivers impressive sound quality in a compact, easy-to-use package. These results will differ from person to person, but for most users, this soundbar is an excellent choice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek and Packed with Powerful Sound I've been using the soundbar for a couple of weeks now and I can honestly say that it's made my home theater experience a lot more involved and fun. First, like many of Bose's products, this is a very cool looking product. I trust Bose to create beautiful hardware and this soundbar is no exception. I love the sleek form factor and its compact size is a perfect addition to my TV stand. It would be nice to have some kind of light indicator for volume but it's not a deal breaker since I can keep track of all of that via the mobile app. The sound quality is incredible. Whether I'm listening to streaming music or using the soundbar with my Apple TV or with my PS5, I'm blown away with how customizable sound can be. Dialog mode is a great tool to use across different streaming apps to help regulate sound levels and make it easier to understand movies and tv shows. I haven't experienced any connection issues with my eARC connection yet, which is a welcomed experience after using some less than reliable soundbars from other companies in the past.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bravo! Great product… it lives up to all the praise and quality of Bose products. However, missing is the printed user’s manual for easy quick consultation of its features and operation. Online/App version does not cut it - this product deserves better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bose 600 Excellent quality sound bar for the price! Though it's not quite as powerful as you might expect from Bose it still goes above cheaper options on terms of the app and sound quality. The remote is TINY and I find myself using the app on my phone for control vs the remote as I feel it's just too small. That being said the app is super easy to use and I really enjoy the settings you can do on it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Underwhelming at higher volumes As a long-time user of Bose products, I approached this soundbar with high expectations, given Bose’s reputation for delivering premium audio experiences. While the sound quality is generally good, I found it slightly underwhelming at higher volumes, though this might be expected from a compact soundbar of this size. One of the standout features of this soundbar is its AI-driven dialogue enhancement technology, which truly shines when streaming content from platforms like Netflix and Paramount. The dialogue clarity is notably crisp, making it easy to catch even the most subtle conversations in movies and shows. When setting it up with my Samsung TV, the installation process was smooth but required the HDMI ARC to be correctly detected, which may take a bit of troubleshooting for some users. The soundbar offers basic EQ adjustments, allowing you to tweak the bass, treble, center, and height channels. However, the EQ options are somewhat limited, especially for users who enjoy fine-tuning their audio experience. Despite this, the soundbar compensates with its impressive overall performance, particularly while streaming movies, playing games where the audio becomes much more immersive and full-bodied. Though the customization options could benefit from some enhancement, the hardware itself delivers a solid, reliable sound that most users will appreciate, especially in medium-sized rooms.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We're sold on Bose! Better than expected! We've been using this soundbar and earbuds for about 2 weeks now. At 1st I wasn't impressed UNTIL I fully understood how they worked in conjunction with each other and adjusted some settings. My wife and I both agree this soundbar is almost better than our Roku 5.1 surround sound. Doesn't have the bass our Roku surround sound has because it doesn't have a subwoofer, which is something we plan on adding in the future to the Bose soundbar, and probably some satellite speakers. The immersive audio is very impressive on the Bose soundbar. It is even better with the earbuds, but to me they're an inconvenience. I personally would rather have satellite speakers. I can definitely understand folks using the earbuds in smaller spaces that don't have the room for satellite speakers or for nighttime use to keep noise levels down. Music and movies sound great, but again, missing a bit from no subwoofer or satellite speakers. Still fantastic sound like you would expect from Bose. All in all, we're going to retire or Roku 5.1 surround sound and slowly build up our Bose system. I like it's compact size a lot! We had to put or Roku soundbar behind our tv due to it's size. The Bose Smart Soundbar can literally go to the edge of our entertainment center shelf and not block the tv at all. That's a huge plus. Can't forget about the AMAZING AI Dialog feature! Makes it much easier to hear folks on the tv speaking, especially when there is a lot of background noise in the shot. Overall a great budget soundbar that we look forward to building on!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost amazing! The Bose Smart Soundbar is just a hair shy of being amazing. It is packed FULL of features from Alexa and Google Assistant support to built in support for all of the top music apps like Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, and more! It looks amazing with it's elegant sleek design and it's incredibly easy to setup. The Soundbar works with the existing Bose app and has full features to adjust your audio preferences, play music, and enable features. It includes AI Dialogue detection, which levels the volume when people are speaking. It does a really great job at this and really improves the experience. My favorite feature is that you can pair them with the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds for personal surround sound. This works really well for rooms that don't or can't have additional satellite speakers. By pairing the earbuds and enabling Personal Surround sound it creates a fully immersive audio experience that's comfortable for long periods of time. It's truly an unreal experience. However, there is one thing the soundbar is lacking: Bass. The audio quality from the soundbar for normal TV watching falls a little flat. It is an upgrade to having no soundbar at all, but it sounds a little "tinny" even after adjusting the audio settings. The audio quality did improve when watching a show on AppleTV+ with Dolby Atmos support and with certain 4k movies. Music from Spotify, YouTube Music, and Tidal all sound really great as well! The fix for everyday TV watching is to either use the Ultra Open Earbuds constantly or invest in the Bose subwoofer and additional speakers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Soundbar With A Few Exceptions The Smart Soundbar is a new mid-range product from Bose. The overall profile of the soundbar is low and sleek, allowing a user to place the soundbar right in front of their TV without the worry of it blocking any sensors affecting the TV remote control. On the top of the soundbar the power and mute buttons are flush with the system. With the size of the soundbar and the sound quality, I feel it is best suited for TV’s 50” and below. Mine is set up on a Sony 65” X90J and at times the sound seems to be somewhat underwhelming. The soundbar is a simple plug and play. I didn’t have to reprogram any remotes or have my Sony TV search for the soundbar. Once the Bose app found the soundbar on my Wi-Fi, I was up and running. Streaming music with either Bluetooth or Airplay was a bit of a challenge as there is no equalizer on the Bose app to open up the soundbar. Selecting the AI dialogue mode does help with the clarity and adjusting the bass, treble. Watching live TV or streaming gives a clean, crisp overall sound. This is where the AI dialogue shines, but again, you will have to adjust the bass and treble to your preferred settings. There are no presets via the app. You can make modifications using the remote control or the Bose app. Overall, the soundbar is a nice entry to mid-level soundbar for a smaller TV. I think it would work well in a small bedroom or even on a desk if one didn’t want to use PC speakers. Pros – Small, sleek, mid-range soundbar For smaller areas Easy set up Works with all remotes Cons – Lacking bass

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Budget Entry Option for Bose Overall rating for a budget entry is fantastic. The speech AI feature makes listening to shows on Streaming Channels a dream. The only reason this is not a 5 is because listening to music emphasizes some EQ issues where the high mids/higher frequencies sound a bit spacey or washed out. The low end is capable for the size of the unit and so this will be a welcome addition to anyone's gaming set up, secondary TV/guest room. Adding the earphones as the "surround" option really adds an immersive experience to the sound bar.
Date published: 2024-09-24
Rated 4 out of 5 by from The soundbar is compact, but still produces decent sound output. There are some cool features like an AI voice feature that allows voices to come out more clearly, and one that adjusts the sound profile if it's mounted. Music comes out clearly, and casting to it is simple. For video streaming, I wish it sounded like a more broad soundstage as it can sound a little tinny, but little musical flourishes do come through.
