I brough this to replace a V10. The Gen 5 has more suction/power, large air filter, many more attachments and upgraded features. An improvement over the V series. It is larger and heavier that the V series, but that is to be expected for larger in size, more power, HEPA filter, etc.

Features are great
GEN5 is great vacuum. Easy to use. The light it uses to detect dirt on floors helps see the dirt you may have missed. Outsize more then I needed after using it because it's so easy to use and move around we use it more often. And its light weight makes it easy to use too. GEN5 having second battery and removable battery makes whole house clean easier without waiting to recharge. Easy to empty.

They got it right this time!!
I’m finally impressed, I have owned several Dyson units and they have all had issues with pet hair. They finally got it right. The power heads do not clog up with pet hair!!! I’m very happy that I gave them one Last Chance and I’m very happy with this new unit. The bin is big enough to not need dumping every few minutes. The auto setting is very intuitive and the laser light is wonderful for spotting the hard to see dust especially on hard surfaces.

I’ve had my Dyson Gen5Outsize for about a month and have used it at least 3 times weekly. It is great on all my floors, carpet and tile, great on furniture too. With 2 long haired dogs, it’s a real blessing to have clean floors and furniture!! Love it!!

Like always - top quality vacuum! I have 3 Dyson products. I have dust allergies and Dyson is the only vacuum that doesn’t stir up the dust reaction in my immune system! Worth every penny!
PS It’s a bit heavier than my first 2 vacuums, but I’m 70 years old and know a little upper body workout is good for my health!

Don’t hesitate!
Bought this because the wife was dying for this one and she is in love. She says it’s lightweight enough for her, heavier than our older one though. Way more power. Much more maneuverable than the other. And all around a crazy good vacuum. It does amazing on both hard floors and carpet, as well as furniture. We got it on sale, which was even better.

The best dyson yet
Bought the gen5 direct from dyson, arrived within 3 days. First impression: certainly different, bigger, and built better than older models, that came with a little heavier weight, which doesnt bother us a bit. Its performance is VERY impressive, and the detect system on auto mode does in fact work perfect. Nothing no to like whatsoever.

High quality vacuum
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely love it! I always had corded vacuum but always wanted something like this so I can grab quickly and go and not to deal with awkwardness of the cord. I only had it for a week and used it one time, I am very excited and is going to be exactly what I need. This vacuum is so lightweight and swivels make it easy to direct in any direction. Goes from carpet to floors and attachments changes very easily and quick if needed.Can do cars, stairs and small spaces with the smaller attachment. Pretty powerful for stick vacuum. This vacuum has been perfect for my 2 bed/2 bath apartment and I can vacuum the whole place on one charge and more. It charges fairly quickly. I did notice that when on high power the battery goes faster which is understandable and still attainable for me. I like how this vacuum is easy to store and out of the way of things. The disposal is very easy with just one push of the lever handle. Switching between the light to strong suction is just one button push away and is right on top where is easy accessible. This vacuum is super quiet too on eco mode. Never thought l'd enjoy vacuuming so much, but I do now when it's this easy!

Great Vacuum!
We have had the GEn5outsize for about a month. Really enjoying the added power over the V11 as well as the versatility of the hardwood floor attachment. We have two big dogs, one of which is a Golden Retriever, so the fur flies around our house. Battery life suffers with the higher powered motor, but with two batteries I can over our 4,000 sq ft home quite nicely. This is my 5th Dyson battery powered vacuum plus a plug in Dyson Ball. They have all been good, but this one is by far the best. Dyson is a bit pricey, but the quality and performance justify the price.

Internal attachments are awesome!

The internal tools that are inside the extension tube are great! It is nice to have them right there instead of having to take them on or off are lose them. I do prefer the trigger start that I have on my other Dyson, only because with this type of vac I use it for certain areas so I don’t have to drag in the dc vac and be troubled with a cord.

I recently upgraded to the Dyson Gen 5 Detect, and it has completely exceeded my expectations. The standout feature for me is the 70-minute battery life—a significant improvement over the standard 40 minutes in most comparable models. This extended time means I can clean my entire home in one go, without worrying about recharging.
Another major plus is the larger reciprocal container, which is twice the size of the standard Dyson models. It holds more debris and contaminants, so I spend less time emptying and more time cleaning. It's a huge convenience, especially for homes with kids or pets.
The attachments are thoughtfully designed and genuinely useful. Whether it’s the crevice tool for tight spots or the several others each one feels like it was made to solve a specific cleaning challenge.

Love my Dyson Gen5detect Absolute
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Dyson Gen5 Detect last week. I've done a whole house vacuuming and here are the things I Love about it:
1. Long run time.
2. Large waste canister and capacity.
3. Automatically picks vacuum "strength" when set on auto.
4. Used my Roomba to vacuum my floors, Twice, the day before I used my GenDetect Absolute and it was unbelievable how much fine dirt and hair it picked up. Filled the large canister!

Its an amazing vacuum! Its worth the money. I love the bare floor attachment. You can see every spec of dirt. This is way better than my old dyson. Plus Im glad it dont have a "trigger". Just amazing!

Cordless delight.

I love this Dyson... expensive, but it works as well or better as an upright. Huge dust bin capacity, wide carpet bar is fantastic, green light for my hard floors soothes my cleanliness anxiety, love the hair screw tool for the stairs. I wish they made vacuums out of something more durable than plastic, but that's every vacuum nowadays. A great product. I love it.
