The new one works
Better than the last Friedrich Wallmaster that I purchased 5 years ago. The new one has more ability to access controls on the machine itself and doesn't require you to spend forever trying to link the remote with your internet router in order to get anything done other than the very basic controls.

Great performance air conditioner
The air conditioner by itself is great. It perfectly replaces my previous air conditioner. My previous air conditioner had a lot of trouble cooling my living room since it got very old but this one is able to cool it with ease. The digital display is easy to read and is very easy to use. The noise level is acceptable on this unit. I did expect it to be a little quieter but it's not too loud on the lowest setting. The mobile app of the smart features can be improved drastically. For it being a modern product, I expected a modern interface with the mobile app, so I hardly use it.

A solid device with annoying things...
I replaced my old 13 years old WallMaster WS15C30A which started to show signs of age (shortcuts, extra noise, rusty bottom panel). We have WS sleeves, so I have no choice to get something else. Here is my humble opinion: the new one has the same good cooling capacity, fit exactly to the sleeve, little easy to install compering with old model. The control panel is dark all the time, so you have a difficulty to manipulate at night, The cover panel looks solid, so it I hope would be not the source of noise in the future, as old model had. I measured the noise level for different speed: 56 dBA-low, 60 dBA-mid, 65 dBA-high. It has plastic louvers to control air flow that already is a source of extra noise, especially if you turn its left/right. The drain nipple is short, the condensate could be dripped to the outside wall and produce nasty looking green mold. Bottom line: it could be good for living room and questionable for bedroom because of noise. The manufacturer did not work on small improvements (flippy louvers made from plastic, dark control panel, drain system) to make this AC close to perfect.

Very Powerful
Works great. Upgraded from an old GE that was in the living room when I bought my place. Very powerful. Kind of loud though. It creates a lot of condensation so make sure you the drain installed properly. Bought a 10k btu for the master bedroom also. The app works great since the last update.

False Advertisement - Not that smart
I purchased this AC to replace a 15 year old Friedrich AC and because it fit perfectly into my existing wall sleeve. My biggest complaint with this AC is that I paid almost $1700 and the "smart" features works when it wants to. I consider myself a technically savvy person and it was difficult to connect the AC to the app. The app itself looks like it was programed by a high school student. When I go into the app to turn on the ac, it will work only on occasion. There's supposed to be a scheduler function but the buttons in the app cannot be moved, and it is difficult to understand. For the price I paid, all of these features should be at least working especially with today's technology. Do research on these AC's before buying it, you will find plenty of posts online with other very disappointed customers.

Poor thermostat control.
Terrible thermostat control. Big temp swings: when AC reaches desired temp then cycles off, the room temp rises 4-5 degrees before unit cycles back on - could be 20-25 minutes! It gets uncomfortably warm and inevitably i have to manually turn unit back on. And even then, if it was set to 72, it doesn't turn on when i lower it to 71, then 70, then 69, maybe at 67 or 68 it turns back on. Also I called Friedrich and they said that's normal. I think it's much worse than my older Friedrich's.
