Fits Perfectly - JGB860EEJ6ES
Bought this for my GE Range Model JGB860EEJ6ES. I was concerned about the tabs fitting and how high/low it would sit on my range. As you can see in the photos it is perfect. With the handles, the cook area is smaller than the original non-stick griddle but given the size of the burner underneath the griddle, I'm comfortable with the cook area. I have not cured it yet so don't know how it will perform but for those concerned about fit, it's a perfect replacement for my GE range. A hefty price but I'm not a fan of non-stick surfaces.

We love it!
Just recommended this cast iron griddle to a friend, and when I was double checking the part number, I was flabbergasted by the poor reviews. We weren't thrilled with the aluminum non-stick griddle that came with our oven, so we upgraded to this cast iron piece four months ago. Didn't do anything special to prep it, such as sanding or baking in a layer of seasoning. Just cleaned, added some oil, and started cooking. We literally throw everything on it-- eggs, bacon, potatoes, grilled cheese, pancakes, sausage, chicken... Works like a dream! Not to mention, the best smashburgers we have ever made! Poor reviews are from people who do not know how to use cast iron.

The grill is Awesome!
After reading the reviews, the only thing I can understand is that people have no clue on how to use a cast-iron Grill. Once it’s seasoned it works great. You always have to season a cast iron grill, once you wash it with soap and water you have to season it again, so that being said do not wash it with soap and water. As for the dimensions it’s a little wider because it has two flanges that hang out so it can hang off the burner grates. Super grill!

Magnificent for those who love cast iron!
This cast iron grill/griddle was THE selling-point for going with the GE range we chose. I am a cast iron snob and I could tell that it's high quality... it's substantial and weighty, but lighter and easier to handle than my Lodge two-burner grill/griddle. After cooking with it for a few months, I'm completely in love. As long as you keep it well-seasoned and care for it the way you would any cast iron, it cooks and cleans up gorgeously.
I was puzzled by the poor reviews, but when I read them I realized they were by people who were not familiar with using cast iron. The rust issues, problems cleaning, etc. are problems with not knowing how to care for cast iron.
*** If you've never used cast iron and prefer Teflon, then go with a non-stick griddle, not this one. If you do use cast iron, you will LOVE this!
As with any cast iron, clean it only with water and a scrubber (I use Kosher salt to scrub off any stuck-on food), rinse and towel-dry, heat over the burner for a few minutes to get rid of any remaining moisture, then rub with oil to reseason (I use coconut oil). Take good care of it and it will outlast your stove!

Nice griddle once smoothed just a bit.
The issue
Our new GE range did not come with the Reversible cast iron griddle / grill, it had the aluminum non-stick griddle.
Items used to make the griddle side better for eggs.
6 inch long 2 x 4 block and some 120 grit sand paper, paper towels and vegetable oil
Repair & Advice
#WB31X24998 Reversible Griddle is a bit rough on all sides out of the box so on the GRIDDLE side only I used the block wrapped with the sand paper to knock some of the sharp edges off the surface, not completely smooth mind you, just enough to get rid of the rough points, I cleaned it, dried it then coated the whole cast iron reversible griddle/grill with a LIGHT coat of oil and baked it in the oven. I set the oven at 500 deg, put the griddle in and hit start. It took 15 min to preheat then 1 hour bake then turned off the oven and let it cool in the oven making a nice black seasoned non-stick griddle... I use it every day. Note... the thinner the oil layer before baking the better and never any soap to clean, just water, dry and a light re-oil on both sides due to burner flame burn off. the best part about it is you cant hurt it... mess up the surface just clean and re-season it and your back non-stick. We enjoy it

Question about griddle
I just purchased a gas range, model number JGB660EEJ2ES , it does not come with the griddle and I see that I can purchase one but I am wondering, can I use th middle burners without the griddle? It seems kind of silly to sell something that is not useable. I love the product so far other than this though.

Should have been offered standard
I bought a JGB700SEJ1SS stove. It came with included "nonstick" aluminum griddle. Nonstick lasts a few years at most. Stoves last decades. Cast iron lasts forever. I am so happy to have this griddle. I just wish I didn't have to pay for the aluminum nonstick that I never wanted.

Compatibility w/ JGBS66DEKWW
Is there are cast iron center griddle replacement for the above GE gas range? I purchased mine in mid-2021, and use the griddle a lot. However, I'm not fond of non-stock surfaces and would rather purchase the cast iron model if available. Thanks!

Which replacement center grill fits JGB700DEJWW?
We are reasonably happy with our GE range. We are having trouble buying replacement parts. Which replacement center grill fits JGB700DEJWW? Our range is only 1 1/2 years old but it is starting to show signs of wear and we want to buy a replacement before they are not available. Our grill is now cast iron, but the only one on the website that is cast iron looks very different. (WB31X24998 with handles). The website one that looks similar (WB31X24738) is aluminum. The descriptions on each just say "Interlocks with grates on select GE Profile™ Series gas ranges". Not very helpful if we don't know which ranges.

Grill that came with range
We purchased range model JGBS66DEKIBB AND ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE GRIDDLE. The no stick finish is almost gone. I want a cast iron griddle this time. Would this griddle fit my range

Love the range, but not the griddle.
I would give this range 5 starts except for the griddle. The non-stick surface started peeling after the first few uses. Now it’s actually wearing off with use. I noticed GE’s answer to ParkerD’s question about a cast iron griddle for the JGB720SEJSS model. My comment would be, MAKE A CAST IRON GRIDDLE THAT FITS THIS MODEL, PLEASE! We use the griddle all the time. You can make cast iron grates, why not a griddle?

I love the cast iron for cooking
I just got this to replace the no stick aluminum griddle that comes with the range. In just 8 months I managed to kill the no stick! It seems I'm hard on no stick coatings!
I've used cast iron skillets for decades. If you don't wash them with soap, they are rock solid on no stick. You can use any spatulas and scrape away merrily and the cast irons just doesn't care.
Despite a review that states it won't fit, it fits perfectly.
My only complaint is it could be designed better. They put handles on it that take away about 16" of cook surface. Those handles aren't needed.

Griddle question
I’m so confused. One response says the wb31x24998 is compatible with all griddles and another says wb31x24738 is not compatible with wb31…998. My user guide says wbx31x24998 is a replacement part. The website says jxgrill1 is the compatible piece. My model is jgs760eelqes. Help investors had the wb31x24738 for 2 years and the finish is gone.

Seeking a grate for my oval burner
Hello, we have a brand new JGB735SP1SS gas oven and range. It came with an aluminum griddle for the center, oval burner. I would like to buy a grate for the oval burner, or at least a grill. But when I enter the model number on GE’s site to search for accessories, it returns a message saying no accessories are available for my model. Is that true?? It’s very difficult to determine your site which accessories work with which models.

Rusted from the bottom
I use this griddle only from the grilling side and not more than 2-3 times a month, for last 2-3 years. Now the flat side is like rusted on the area where are the flames, as it is this side against the gas burner. Now I am afraid to use the flat side for eggs.

RUSTED AFTER ONE USE
After having our kitchen upgraded we purchased the GE Profile Oven with the griddle GE-WB31X24998. Had not used it for months. After the very first use it is covered in rust. I tried rust remover, a can of coke per the service lines suggestion and no resolve. To pay this much money and have it not only not be usable but it look horrendous covered in rust.

Too Heavy
This range came with the house so I did not get a choice. I like the gas range, but do not like the cast iron reversible grill. I am not able to pick it up due to arthristis in my hands. Would like to have a light-weight cast iron reverisble grill. Is that possible?

Rusted after first use!!
Worst kitchen product I’ve ever come across. Our new house came with new GE gas range with this griddle for the burner. The first time we used it, it rusted! Doesn’t matter what I tried to clean it with wouldn’t come off! Not only that it doesn’t heat up properly..

Terrible- rusted immediately.
Used once, washed it and it completely rusted. I was looking online for recommendations on how to clean this product, when I found multiple complaints about this issue.
