Reasonably priced, all-around washer
We have done several loads which have varied in size and fabrics. All were cleaned well, especially of dog hair. The controls are easy to understand and use, fewer problems with dials that electronics. I like the great selection of cycles and water levels since I pay for my water. It was noisier than my old washer, but only on large, heavy fabric loads. We like the large drum for washing large dog beds/blankets.

Capacity is just right for us, the controls make the ease of use simple not all those bells and whistles that tends to break at high cost as for the noise it's very quiet as far as I can tell. Now if it'll last like the GE products of old we'll be even happier with the purchase.

Very Pleased So Far
I just got this washer today. I have done 3 different loads of laundry on various settings and have been very pleased so far. Noise level is not as loud as I expected so that was good. I did not want an electronic washer and this unit was very affordable and provides everything I need. The tub is good capacity—I washed a set of king sheets on high water setting, wasn’t at full capacity.

Right size for me!
I bought this washing machine as the match for the dryer. The capacity is adequate for sheets & towels, & and also handle several pairs of jeans and other clothing. I wanted a stainless steel basket, which it has, as well as cycles for delicate and heavily soiled garments. The cycles are easy to set & I like the feature where the machine pretty much decides on the water level based upon the weight of the load. The machine is relatively quiet, although my last one was 20 yrs old and getting really loud during the spin cycles. The final spins works really well, taking out most of the water. I went with this size GE because of their reputation and the research I did on what capacity I would need. I’ve only had it for a month, but so far no complaints.

Simple is Better
Love my new GE Washer. I owned an LG for 11 years and it finally started making very weird grinding noises, so I immediately started researching new machines. My goal was to go back to simplicity. Did anybody actually ask for manufacturers to remove agitators? Did anybody ask for HE machines? Who said they wanted digital readouts and electronic balancing machines? Do we really need to be able to control our washing machines from our cell phones? Automatic water fill detection?
If you want clean clothes and only functions that are necessary in order to get your clothes clean, buy this good old fashioned style washing machine! Our clothes are clearner than they have been in 11 years.

How long does one cycle of clothes take on model GTW385ASWWS
Our GE Washer is still fairly new, so I m still feeling my way around its performance. As for your question, it would appear everything hinges on size and weight of load. Sometimes lighter loads are finished very fast. I love our new GE Washer, everything is cleaner and fresher. Ours has auto sensing feature on water fill, real piece of mind!! Hope this helps ?
