BEST FEATURES FOR A STACKING UNIT
Previously purchased one of these in 2016 for a summer camp. Worked wonderfully. Tub even held a king size quilt. Purchased a competitor unit December 2022 for a winter place in FL. We are in FL from mid-November to mid-April. Had to have service come out 3 times in those 5 mos. No hot wash. Mfg service center said that because new gov regulations there was no hot hot wash (hog wash)! Third service call got a semi hot wash and had to replace mother board. Back to FL in Nov 2024, extended warranty service call declared it a lemon. Needless to say I purchased the GE again this time. Works like a charm, hot water wash, great agitation, large tub and dryer, timed dry has many minute selections (unlike the lemon).

Very pleased with the performance
This unit is a space saver for our home. Thus far, it has performed as expected. The biggest plus is that it is far quieter than the unit it replaced, but of course, it was several years old. Very satisfied at this point. I sincerely hope it will give us many years of quality service. Also, my wife reported that the drying time was significantly less than the unit it replaced.

Great machine, lots of user selections
I love this washer dryer combo. It fits into my small space. The washing machine if fairly large, and it can easily handle three king size sheets plus a few towels. It has a knob to select water levels if you want. I always select the water level I want. The washer spins very fast and for a long time so the clothes are pretty dry when they come out. There is an also a water temperature selector and a rinse option. There dryer works well. There is not a temperature selector on the dryer, but the different drying modes determine the temperature so you do have control of the temperature.

I have this GE stackable washer and dryer. My dryer will only count down when it is on a timed cycle. If I select more dry, optimum dry etc it will stay in the same place and run for hours. Is this normal? I've never had a stackable before.

I just purchased the GUD27ESSMWW and was told and confirmed that this unit has a side vent capability just as the 24 inch floor model. However, my contractor did not find the perforated. hole on the side, to be able to use it. This is crucial for me.
