Love it!
We purchased this for our new GE dishwasher, model GDP665SYN8FS. We have been using it for a week. So far, we absolutely LOVE it! My kids can load the dishwasher, I can select settings in the app and start it, or use my GOOGLE assistant and start it. I was a little nervous about it connecting to our wi-fi, but we have not had any connection issues at all.

Got it and works well.
Just got it this afternoon and spent sometime having the appliance set up. Took a while as the appliance was not getting registered to the cloud using SmartHQ, so I tried Comfort - GE app and it registered quite easily. Although the latter seemed to have the same interface through the succeeding steps, the appliance I have is better identifiable using the 2nd app. Once registered, I was able to use SmartHQ which I find to have a better interface. I am also able to use new features via IFTT that would provide some convenience and save some operating costs.

Will not connect to Wi-Fi
The washer has a sticker on the front that says it will connect to the Wi-Fi it doesn't say anything about me having to buy something separate to hook it up it's misleading

Barely does half the job.
I have a washer/dryer combo unit and the module only works for the washer. My unit has no bells to tell me when the loads are complete so I purchased this module. It's great for telling me when my wash load is ready for the dryer but does not tell me when my dryer is done. My laundry room is on the second floor so if I'm busy doing other things, I still have to set a timer to swap the laundry. I would not have spent the money if I would have known.

Pretty Neat
I bought it for my washer model GTW 685. Can be kind of buggy. Took some work to get it connected but customer service is nice to deal with once you get to a live agent. If you don’t go back to home it doesn’t always record the cycle in the usage log. But I liked it enough I bought a second for my matching dryer but it got lost in shipping. Waiting for a refund and I’ll try to order again. I really like how it’s magnetic and sticks to the back of the appliances.
Biggest thing I would change and this is only for washing machines would be to get a notification of an unbalanced load and cancel the cycle from anywhere. My machine try’s to self balance but has never had any luck so I don’t run bulky loads when I’m away.
The three stars is for the annoying automated phone system and the lost package.

Need more detail on where to instal this option
I recently bought a GDF535PSRSS dishwasher and noticed that it was wi-fi optional with this product. The app and operations manual do not go into enough detail where the RJ45 port is and I felt uncomfortable just poking around. A diagram would have been useful. Turns out the port (thanks Best Buy user) on this model is underneath the dishwasher on the front right side to the left to the power connect on a control board. It faces the floor and Icould not see it. I put my smartphone on the floor and took the attached picture facing upwards. Then it took about 3 to 4 attempts before the device would initialize in the App. The App is very slow. Hope this helps others.

Why did I leave whirlpool? If it ain’t broke
Control panel stopped working right at the end of warranty. I can’t select water temp or anything can’t connect to WiFi . It use to connect.

Why does my GE CAFE dishwasher need an additional unit to connect to the wifi. It should be built in, just like with ALL my other new GE CAFE appliances (seven new appliances) that were just installed 5-24-24. We spent a fortune already! I can’t believe GE is requiring any additional add-ons to any of the CAFE appliances.

I would not have bought the washer/dryer (expensive!) if I would’ve been told an additional device was needed. It doesn’t matter what GE says or how the product is advertised, it is deceiving!

Doesn’t work. Do not buy!!!
It’s on very briefly and then stops working, always keeps showing as offline. Reinstalled the app, checked all the connections, reconnected the module multiple times, removed and added again the device, nothing helps. Very disappointed. Such a waste of money.

Regret buying this dishwasher
This machine is too complicated and its set-up instructions are totally inadequate. I regret buying it. I have wasted my entire day trying to understand this thing and set it up— all to no avail.

Doesnt Connect/Work
20+ times trying to connect to the new dishwasher. Only made it to the screen to connect to the home wifi ( and it actually show the available networks) about 6 or 7 times. Told me my password was wrong everytime expect 1. That one time it said it couldnt find my appliance in the cloud. SmartHQ app is trash. I triple checked to ensure the appliance is compatible and it is. If this thing is this difficult to simply connect then Im sure its an even bigger headache to keep connected. Returning.

installing the U + connect and it broke the washe
I was installing the U + connect to my washing machine and it did not start flashing as directed. So I disconnected it and tried to start my washer. The washers broken and would not start. I had to replace the washing machine.

Why we need to hook up the refrigerator to the internet for updates?
These devices are meant to update your control boards, if the company finds software issues with its products it connects to the app and updates the software. If you out of the warranty it will cost you about a $150.00 to have it done everytime it may be needed.
