Love this!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This water and ice filter for the refrigerator from GE is great. It has been working really nicely in our fridge which is a couple years old and is compatible so that’s nice. It is easy to use and install also!

Excellent!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were able to put this filtration system in our outdoor garage fridge. We wanted to set it up for ice, but needed to make sure the water was clean and safe for use. Setup was easy, and just like that we now have a second ice maker keeping our drinks cold this summer!

Compact and mighty
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The GE GXRTDR was a snap to install. So compact and sturdy, our family loves how the filtration system cleans out impurities. The water tastes so much better now. A little extra step in helping keep my family healthy.

Install was easy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was the perfect solution for our garage refrigerator that did not have a working built in filtration system. The install was a breeze but make sure you follow the directions. We did have to purchase a new water line as our line was not long enough, but this was no issue as the other line was older anyway. The instructions say we should be able to filer 2,500 gallons of water or change every six months. We have a significant change in the taste of our water and it was the best thing we added to our secondary refrigerator.

Fresh water
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My fridge does not have a water filter system. I never would use the water option. My husband had it set up in no time it attached to the existing line. It is important to replace every six months. Just follow instructions step by step for installation. This will help save on me buying water bottles and reduce my plastic bottle use.

Simple Install
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The GXRTDR is very simple and easy installation. Have had a noticable reduction in sediment and the taste of chlorine after the install. Nice to have water and ice that is clearer and cleaner tasting.

Great Filter!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The filter works as advertised. It was fairly easy to install by following the instructions. The water in my area has a fairly strong chlorine taste and odor and this takes all of that away. I now enjoy drinking water from my refrigerator. An inexpensive solution to bad tasting water.

Nice Product
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received the GE-GXRTDR Water Filter System the other day. We were able to get it fitted onto the refrigerator and it seems to be doing a good job. Given the chance . We would recommend this product to friends and family.

GXRTDR
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] GXRTDR, Wow this is so good and pretty easy to hook up. Thank you for letting me try. There are time when the water has a funky taste and I don't like that. I'd definitely recommend to family and friends.

Does what it's intended for.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a replacement and got this one. I had a bit of trouble so I had to call my dad over. He had little to no trouble getting it installed so we didn't have to call in a specialist. Works like a dream.

Didn't Know I needed This - Until Now
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I never looked behind our fridge except to clean it so I never noticed if we had a filter on the fridge. News to me - we had the spot for one, but it wasn't there. My husband installed it along with a new line and wouldn't you know it, delicious & cold filtered water was at our beck and call. It was easy to install and the water tastes delicious and refreshing.

Great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately I have an LG so this didn’t work for my fridge but it did work for my brothers fridge. He said it has been doing great, there’s a taste difference in the ice and water which he liked. Cleaner and doesn’t taste like chemicals! Approved.

It's a waterfilter
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a water-filled. They ate all a pain in my opinion. This one is a little easier to install than most but still a pain. No initial after taste like some filters just fresh out of the box and not horribly priced

added filter
I installed this filter three weeks ago, in defense I did not flush the filter as instructed. I was looking to eliminate the chlorine taste in my ice cubs. It removed some but not all. Any on have a better choice?

Hard to rate
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This filter was easy to install and seemed to do a good job of cleaning and improving the taste of water going to my ice maker.
Unfortunately, after several months of use it sprung a spontaneous leak at the inflow connector. This resulted in damage to my floor and ceiling of the bedroom beneath the kitchen.
When I say spontaneous, I mean no one had come near the filter and it had not been moved. I simply sat on the floor behind the refrigerator. So I cannot recommend any of the GE filters with the push in O-ring type connector.

Useless
We're on that program where we automatically receive a new filter when time to change on our ice maker. Problem is GE changed the style of line connections on the new filter. Eliminated the GXRTQR with QXRTDR. I can't change the filter until I replace the entire water line system from supply to filter. Then again from filter to ice machine. This ****DR filter is useless to me. The QR filter was so easy to replace too. Who's stupid idea was it to do this? Like a previous review said "If it ain't broke.. don't fix it"!!! If I had the option to rate it a zero I would.

Don't Change a Good Design
First ordered the GXRTQ that had the quick install connections. Then they came out with the GXRTQR repalcement model that only had the end nipples and I had to buy brass male and female fittings to make it work. Now they eliminate the end nipples and threaded ends and go to a slide in model (GXRTDR) to connect the plastic tubing. The quick connection idea is a good idea because it makes the job easy to install and because of that people will want to order the same product each time. GE keeps changing the design and people get frustrated because they are expecting to get the same product each time and it keeps changing. Thus the old auto mechanic saying applies here "If it is not broke don't try to fix it".

Bring back the GXRTQ inline filter
The GXRTDR has no fittings to quick connect/release the water line. GE says GXRTDR replaces it, but there are no instructions how to adapt it. Please bring back the GXRTQ inline filter

Lousy replacement for GXRTQR filters
This is a lousy replacement for GXRTQR filters. The GXRTDR has no fittings to quick connect to the water line. GE says GXRTDR replaces it, but there are no instructions how to adapt it.

Filter is missing one connector
The inlet side is missing the coupling. I can push the hose in, but there is nothing to lock it. Looks like it skipped part of the manufacturing process. I don't have a receipt to return it. The filter was new. The other ones that I have bought didn't have this problem.
