You do get a base piece with the unit to keep the correct ventilation for the microwave. I would have liked to have seen a tighter fit around the frame to the microwave. Still,very happy with the look.

I called and was told there isn’t another comparable trim kit with better quality, so I am stuck purchasing yet another one that will probably break again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Breaks with Normal Usage Just like the other reviewer, found this trim kit breaks with regular usage. In the last 3-6 months I noticed the top of this trim kit had cracked on each side. Today when opening the microwave door the top of the kit came completely loose as well as the bottom, left hand side. Really disappointed as it's less than 2 years old and when it broke it damaged my cabinets so not only will I have to replace the kit, I will also have to pay for the cabinet repair. I have contacted GE and hope they will remedy this as there seems to be an issue with this product.
