Best way to sous vide!
We have the Profile PHS93X Induction range (don’t get confused by the Cafe platinum glass door, we added that ourselves, though functionally they’re the same unit).
This probe has been on backorder for a while, and I finally snagged one. I was concerned about how even the heating would be given the lack of a circulator, but the temperature is consistently maintained within 1 degree of set temp throughout the pot, and I checked many times. I added some pepper to the water to see how much circulation was occurring just by virtue of heating, and was surprised to see just how much the water moves around.
Very cool gadget!

Very impressive, works great!
I bought this for my GE Cafe induction cooktop. You need to update the software on the cooktop before using this, and they don't include a cable for that. But that aside, once I figured out how to do the update, it was smooth sailing. There's a communication module which plugs in to the underside of the cooktop, and it communicates via bluetooth to the temperature probe. The probe is magnetic, and super easy to just clip on to the side of the pot, so that the metal part sits in the water. This works on the larger hob. You hold down on the on/off button on the burner for 3 seconds, and it turns on and activates the timer, which now turns into a temperature display. You set the desired temperature. The led lights turn on for the burner, and slowly turn off one by one when it reaches the temperature, and makes a little chime sound to let you know when it actually is at the temperature. I tested the water temp after an hour just to check, and just as promised, it was within 1 degree. I set the temp to 129 degrees for rare, and cooked a steak for 2 hours in the water bath, in a vacuum sealed bag. The steak was about 2" thick. Once I pulled the meat out, I seared it in a grill pan on the cooktop. Perhaps for 3-4 minutes total. The best steak I have ever made, and quite possibly the best I've ever tasted. I would say that this works very accurately, and, unlike an electric sous vide accessory which has a circulator, this one heats the pot from the outside in. No need to circulate the water for a proper temp. It does come with a usb cable to charge the probe itself. Here are pics of the steak I cooked. I would definitely recommend this accessory.

Works great for Sous Vide as intended
Since this is a Sous Vide device (JXPROBE1) and not a thermometer for all cooking it is worthy of the stars (I didn't dock points for it not being able to do things it wasn't intended for). It would be incredible if it could be used for all cooking (candy making, deep frying etc) I am not sure why the limited temperature range except that maybe the electronics couldn't handle that type of heat since the device is magnetized to the pot. It was seemless to connect to my GE Cafe range via bluetooth. The biggest fault of this device is the battery does not last as long as required for most sous vide meat cooking (18+ hours). Twice now I have tried to do a 24 hour sous vide and have had to charge it during the process which means I now manually have to monitor the temp of the water while it charges. It does not appear that you can charge it while its cooking. And why no battery indicator light?? It has an LED display - put it to use. Or, since you can use the app to control the device add an alarm in there. I was fortunate to have caught it just as it was shutting off, if it had happened in the middle of the night my dinner would have been ruined. However, it has kept the water temp at what I had set it to and it is awesome to have this feature with my range. I hope more accessories come out similar to this.

Very useful feature
As an avid sous-vider for the last 10 years or so, having that capability on one of the burners of my 36" Monogram cooktop was a huge factor in my decision to purchase. I've previously used the Anova Culinary Sous Vide cooker with great results.
There is a bit of a learning curve to using this apparatus - it takes a while to figure out how long to hold down the button on the probe, and how long to hold down the burner on/off switch. Soon you learn to listen for the unique tone that means the two are communicating. You of course must use an induction compatible pot for your cooking. At first I didn't quite trust it's ability to hold the temperature precisely, but after checking multiple times over multiple temps and dishes with my theraworks thermometer, I can say that it does consistently hold the temp within a degree or two, which is close enough for my needs. Pretty amazing that it can hold temp without a water circulator. Props to GE on figuring this out. The magnetic clip on probe is very simple to use on any pot and super easy to clean - a big plus.
My only knock on this system is that you cannot set a timer to turn it off after a set amount of time - and I assume the low battery indicator only shows when it's almost out of power - a battery level indicator that shows 90%, 75%, etc.... would be helpful. Also on my wish list is that it could somehow circulate the water bath. Hence the 4 stars rather than 5.

only works on largest hob
I bought this to pair with my 30" Cafe Induction cooktop (CHP9530SJSS). The sensor itself is elegant and well designed, but not without deficiencies.
My biggest complaint is that it only works with the 11" hob. (this is clearly stated in the product manual that it ships with, but absent from any sales information available before you buy it). So in my case, my smallest pot that works well on the is 8qt--so I can't really precision cook less than ~4qt of something. Making candy is an advertised use, but I can't imagine making that much candy.
Another nit is that it displays your set temperature, but there is no way to display the current temperature. It would be nice if there were a way to toggle between the two.

200 degree limit!
Having purchased the Cafe cooktop as a top end appliance for our new house a year ago, we have been both pleased and disappointed. The cooktop Blu-Ray temperature probe was a great disappointment. Being limited to 200 degrees makes it worthless for many projects, esp. candy making. In addition to it being limited, there are no alternatives that tie into all of the built-in features. This disappointment followed the realization that we had to replace all of our cookware that would not work on the induction cooktop.

Useless
I could never get this to work with my Cafe smart range. I wasted money on this thing. It doesn’t even charge. It’s been sitting in my kitchen cabinet collecting dust for four years now.

Exceptionally poor design
The product, when it works, is very good.
However.
The product suffers from exceptionally poor design and support. The manual was just a couple pages stapled together in the corner, like they were some high school kid’s homework, hastily run off his dad’s computer at 5am, with details to match. I had to figure out how to use the product through trial-and-error.
The charging port is a USB micro, and appears to be of very poor quality: many standard USB cables don’t feel like they click into it solidly, leaving some doubt as to whether or not they are making good contact for charging. Additionally, there is no indicator on the unit or through its software interface that lets the user know if the unit is actually charging, and the only indicator for current state of charge is the low power indicator that comes on before the unit fails entirely due to power loss. There is no percentage display, and no indication of how long until it will power off.

Not worth the time it takes to get working.
I find this product too much trouble to use. The one button one indicator interface is lousy. I have had this for over a year and quit using it last winter. My old method with my digital cooking thermometer is easier. I have to charge this every time I want to use it since there is no charge indicator. Getting it 'connected' to the Cafe Induction stove is flakey at best. It typically takes 3-5 attempts to get it working. When I plug it in to charge nothing happens; no confirmation that charging is in process or it is fully charged. This design is typical for the GE Cafe Induction cooktop JUNK. They are very pretty but not very useful or practical for cooking.

Same problem as many customers. Instructions say to text "PARTS" to 36534 and it says to write part number. Only part no. I have is JXXPROBE1. Text says its wrong and needs to start with a"W".
I need a manual for JXPROBE1 to use with my GE Range; PHS930YP3FS.
How do I get a manual???

I also need a manual for my JXPROBE1
While I guess I would have preferred receiving an instruction manual (or at least finding one on line), I guess it is comforting to know I’m not the only one having a problem. I finally got Probe two weeks ago, and decided to test it out so I can make my wife a special valentines dinner … but, no such luck.
The oven says it paired, and the Smart HQ app seems to be looking for it, but, the Precision Cooking isn’t recognizing it.
What am I doing wrong? A manual might help, but a comment from someone who has had the same problem would also be great.

I need the JXPROBE1 manual also
I also need the manual sent to my email address. I have waited over a year for this probe and now it arrives with no instructions other than a card that said to text for instructions for a different model probe. GE you really dropped the ball on this one! Hopefully, the probe will work as promised.

Unable to access manual
I cannot access the manual for my JXPROBE1 using the text number provided. I only get an error message that says, "Thank you for your message. This is an unmonitored account. Please contact us directly if you have any questions." Can you please email me a link as you have apparently done for others? Thank you.

Unable to access manual online
I texted the part # to the number provided and all I received back was a message that says, "Thank you for your message. This is an unmonitored account. Please contact us directly if you have any questions." Very frustrating. Can you please email me the manual as you have apparently done for other frustrated users? Thank you.

Would be nice to know how to use it
We got this in the mail as a part of our purchase of a GE Range. No instructions. The card with it says "Text this number with the word PARTS"
Did that. Get back "Text the Part number."
Look around -- the only thing vaguely resembling a part number is JXPROBE1. Text that.
"Parts numbers usually begin with W"
If there's a number starting with a W in what you sent, it's too small for me to see.
Couldn't you, I don't know, just print a URL or QR code that leads to the manual? Like people did in the 'teens?

Shouldn't exist
I really wish this probe didn't exist. Then maybe GE would unlock use of the Hestan smart probe which is half the price and works over 200 deg F, so it can also be used for frying and candy making, which makes it way more useful.
