Mount the TV to the wall behind the stand and use the 3 shelves for component storage. Utilize the removable mounting pole and you then have the option to swivel the TV left or right. Or, for another option, simply place the TV on top of the stand. Can this stand hold a 55 “ TV/

No.  Really cannotnhold a tv much bigger than 40 inches.  I bought this and a 40 in tv for my mother.
