Many of the Hotpoint freestanding ranges in our inventory come with a wide variety of nifty features. Available on many Hotpoint electric freestanding ranges with coil burners, Sensi-Temp technology is an important safety feature. It limits the maximum temperature of coil burners to 450 degrees Fahrenheit to reduce the risk of oil and grease fires. A special sensor in the middle of each coil burner measures the temperature of the pan that rests on the burner. If the temperature threshold is reached, the burner will shut down automatically. It will start heating again when a lower pan temperature is detected. Some models come with chrome drip bowls which will be located underneath the coil burners on electric ranges, and they make cleaning much easier. If sauces or other substances are spilled on the cooktop or burner, the chrome drip bowls will collect them. The bowls can be removed, emptied, and wiped for easy cleaning. Many Hotpoint electric freestanding ranges come with lift-up cooktops. The cooktop lifts up so that you can remove crumbs and spills that may be trapped on the sub top. Usually, you'll find sealed cooktop burners on Hotpoint gas freestanding ranges. The sealed burners feature covered heating elements for added safety. If a spill occurs near the burner, you can clean it up by wiping around the burner with a damp cloth. They use batteries to light the gas burners, and they don't require an electrical outlet. Nearly all Hotpoint freestanding ranges are equipped with front controls that allow you to adjust the temperature and other settings without having to reach over the cooktop. This could help reduce the risk of kitchen accidents.
