Rated 5 out of 5 by from When I came to I was totally surprised. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This multi media amplifier has blown me away. The quality of the audio sound is amazing. It has taken me a while to do a review because around the time I received my package I was in the Hospital. I had a Grand Mal Seizure. I had been unable to communicate for quite some time. But now as I have been able to get my faculties in order I have been able to sort out the usages of this system. And I am totally impressed and satisfied with the results of this system. It is very beautiful modern design that would blend in with any decor. As long as you have an eye for detail placement this system will blend in so naturally with virtually any decor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased with this product so far [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been interested for quite some time in setting up a surround sound system in my home so I thought this product would be great opportunity to start the process. I don't yet have a full set of speakers, but so far, I've been very happy with the performance. To start, I was very impressed with the way the product was packaged and protected in the box. It made me feel like the product is a premium product worth protecting. It also gave me confidence that I would not be dealing with a product that received shipping damage, which is far too common of an occurrence for me recently. Once I got the product unpackaged, it was easy to get everything setup a functioning. My only challenge was, when hooked up to the TV audio, the audio didn't sound right initially. But I was able to determine that my issue was the system thought I had a center and rear speakers, so once I corrected the setup to just include front speakers, the sound worked great. Speaking of the setup, I was very impressed with the amount of setup options available, so I could dial in the system to work just right for my application (speaker spacing, speaker height, dialogue enhancement, bass, treble, size of speakers for front, center and rear, etc). Once I got the setup just how I liked it, I tested out TV audio, movie audio and music. The sound quality was excellent for every application. I am really looking forward to adding center and rear speakers to my system! Another feature that I have used and enjoyed is the Bluetooth connectivity. It was very easy to put the receiver in pairing mode and connect it to my phone. I am now able to easily play music in my home when I'm doing work or something other than watching TV. Last, I think the receiver looks great! It is a more simplistic design, but that is what I prefer. It blends into my TV stand perfectly. I was concerned I wouldn't like another piece of equipment on my TV stand, but I've been happy with the way it looks, so my concerns went away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb all-around receiver [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the JBL MA310 receiver for a while now to really give it a good test run. and I have to say, the sound quality is simply amazing. Paired with JBL bookshelf speakers and a powered subwoofer in a 2.1 stereo, the system delivers a a fab audio experience that's perfect for home theater and music alike. Key words are clarity, detail, and full-range. Even though I'm currently using it in a 2.1 setup, the receiver is fully capable of delivering full surround sound with Dolby. I think I am in a minority that prefers 2.1, because sometimes I cannot stand how some movies are mastered in surround. So much attention is paid to effects and surround, the basics of clarity and volume matching is lost. This thing DELIVERS in 2.1! One of the standout features for me is the Bluetooth connectivity, which works flawlessly for streaming music. Additionally, the HDMI ARC connection to my smart TV was a breeze to set up and synced automatically. I was particularly thrilled to find no latency—there’s no lag between the actors' words and their lips, which can be a common issue with lower-end systems. I also have it connected to my playstation, and holy cow is my gameplay experience elevated! JBL has an app designed to help fine-tune the EQ to your room's acoustics. While the idea is great in theory, I found the app a bit less than intuitive. After some trial and error, I opted to use my ears for adjustments, which worked out well for me. I wish JBL had included a more detailed printed user manual. There was only a quick start and safety guide included. The menus and settings on the receiver are extensive, but figuring out how to customize the inputs to my liking required some digging around. A more comprehensive guide would have saved lots of time, but then again, who doesn't like playing with their new toys and exploring all the settings?!? Overall, the JBL MA310 is a fantastic receiver. While the setup process and app usability could be more user-friendly, the performance more than makes up for it.

Went from TV speakers to this receiver with llbookshelf speakers and a sub. One word? WOWWW. Setting this thing up was easy and to the point. First time wiring up a speaker and it was a breeze. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Professional Quality at a Budget Price [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL MA310 is a new entry A/V Receiver to the JBL MA series lineup. There are several models offered with the 310 being the most budget friendly but still offering amazing high quality sound at an entry level price point. The unit tested is the Espresso (BLACK) unit but is offered in a cream like Latte color as well. The unit is simple and visually sexy without all the complicated buttons and features that can be confusing... this one just works.. and works extremely well. The extraordinary audio and video experience are derived from this 5.2 channel receiver that delivers incredible audio performance with 4K video for a supreme home theater treat. The MA310 seamlessly integrates with smart TVs, gaming consoles, streaming, cable boxes and more with 4 HDMI inputs and 1 output plus an ARC port. The sound produced in our test of various movies and music genres was nothing shortly of breath taking. Our MA310 was paired with our Roku TV, JBL Sound Bar 1000 system, and the newly released JBL Stage 240B Bookshelf speaker set for a movie/music lovers dream. Music is streamed wirelessly via Bluetooth 5.1 + Low Energy input. Five channels of low noise class D amplification provide real world 60W RMS (8 Ohm) and 100W RMS (4 Ohm) power to all channels. On screen setup and operation offers simple and easy gateway to get up and running in no time. The EZ Set EQ provides a quick room optimizing audio setup in seconds to avoid tuning and speaker placement consult by audio professionals... you are the professional. Multiple ports exist on the back of this unit including 1 coaxial and 1 optical digital input, 2 analog RCA line-level stereo audio inputs, dual mono subwoofer RCA outputs, and 5 speaker outputs via industry standard quick connects. Some key features of the MA310 include support of Dolby Audio, dts HD, and even Dolby Atmos. The MA310 replaced a 20 year old receiver produced by another reputable company and the sound progression is light years ahead of its time. The addition of this unit was a no brainer and extreme upgrade from our previous unit at a fraction of the price of today's receivers without sacrificing features or quality. JBL JUST ROCKS and in this case on a budget...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality Performance Receiver [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL MA310 in black color is an excellent receiver for my JBL Stage 2 surround sound system. This receiver replaces my JBL sound bar. The receiver offers several component inputs...they include 4 HDMI, a USB, Optic cable in, and multiple speaker outs for surround sound, center sound, and front sound. Setting this system up was fairly straight forward. We connected the HDMI cable to the TV, connected all the speaker wires, and then plugged the system in. With the show playing the sound came through the speakers crystal clear. The front of the receiver is very sleek with not so many buttons. We used the remote to set up the system. The remote is small, ergonomic, and easy to use. We love the Bluetooth capability. Being able to play music on our home surround sound system with our phones is key. We don't have to search any music stations on the TV guide, we can connect to our phones and have music playing in short order. The compact size fits right into the pocket area of our entertainment table. All the knobs are easy to see and they rotate effortlessly. The whole family loves the sound this offers through our Stage 2 speakers and sub. So happy with this receiver!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great design and ease of use! Tons of power! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ease of use with this receiver was beyond anything I could have imagined. The design was very slimming, not bulky like you see in a lot of receivers. I love that it offers multiple HDMI ports for all electronics. This receiver is clean and versatile, with a lot of power. I would definitely recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from really great sounds [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL MS310 A/V receiver is truly a marvel. The sound is clear, bass is thumping and paired with JBL speakers is a great "theatre/movie" sound...for being at home on the couch! I love using it on Bluetooth when not watching a movie. I can move around the house and hear it perfectly. I appreciate that it doesn't have 100 buttons in order to operate. Minimal and intuitive front and back panel and the remote is simple and sleek. It's compatible with smart home devices too. But my favorite part of all is the orange racing stripe along the front face of the unit. Truly makes it a home decor piece as well as awesome audio equipment. My neighbors may be complaining about the volume but I am loving every minute of it! (P.S.=JBL Stage 240B speakers have the orange racing stripe too..Get both!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish with various features. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sleek faceplate nice touch with the orange pipings, easy read display with varying brightness. Connectivity is simple to wifi networks and Bluetooth devices, the analog inputs are a plus for us with older reel to reels and turntables. Modern inputs for hdmi, usb, and digital inputs too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid 5.1 amplifier, albeit a bit basic [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As far as stereo amplifiers go this is a solid basic 5.1 amplifier. It has a simple but relatively striking design with two large knobs, one of which has transparent plastic and the "okay to turn past 11" message along the edges, which I find very fun and a great touch. The look is very sleek and modern, the style I received was black and I think it would look right at home with any decor. It lacks many of the more convenient features you would expect on a more robust model, but this amplifier does its job well and supports 4k passthrough. The settings are a bit limited but all the core essentials are there. The menus were intuitive and I didn't feel like I needed to spend a bunch of time reading the manual to figure it out. The only thing I was not impressed with was the remote; it could be a bit nicer. The squared-off battery housing underneath was uncomfortable in the hand for both me and my partner and it overall has a bit of a cheaper plastic-y feel. If you need a 5.1 home theater amp and don't want any extra bells and whistles this would be the one for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The JBL MA310 sound and price are worthwhile... The JBL MA310 sound and price are worthwhile - thanks! However, the JBL MA310 has plenty of inputs and not enough outputs. For example, RCA Analog outputs, Bluetooth outputs, and Optical outputs seems like the way to go easily enough, eh?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Upgrade For My Small Room System [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really enjoying this modern upgrade to my older-generation AV receiver. The design is clean and minimal, and setup was comparatively straightforward (given the inherent complexity of home audio/theater systems). Audio quality is clean with no noise or hiss at higher volume levels. Inputs/outputs on the rear provide all the needed connections for modern systems with up to four HDMI inputs for connecting video devices, as well as coax and optical for digital audio input. Support for up to two legacy analog audio devices, such as older CD and cassette players, is also provided. Note that if you're into vinyl, this model is not designed for connecting a phono turntable that requires a ground connection. For that, you should look at the MA510 or MA710 models. There is also no input support for legacy non-HDMI video formats, so any older DVD/Blu-ray/VHS players or older cable/satellite boxes you might have in your system that do not support HDMI format will require an HDMI adapter (or a less convenient setup where you bypass the receiver and send the legacy video signal straight to your TV and only pipe the audio to the receiver). Pros - Simple and intuitive setup of both the wiring and settings - Clean, minimalist design with direct access to most frequently used features via buttons and dials (less-used features and setup are accessed via the menu system) - On-screen (projected to TV) menu system makes for easy visualization of current settings and quick configuration changes - Built-in Bluetooth support means my iPhone and MacBook can now be first-class input devices in my home audio system without the need for any retrofits or adapters - Good per-device customization features to help harmonize the diverse audio/video characteristics of each device. Each input can have its own audio format, video type, EQ and level (gain) settings to help unify and balance the system. - Ability to hide from the menu system any inputs that don't exist in your setup to streamline menu options - Simple, clean remote with minimal buttons that mimic the on-board buttons, so switching between device and remote is intuitive - Plenty of clean power for a bookshelf or surround system in a smaller to mid-size room Cons - I'm not a particular fan of the "glossy" look for electronics and prefer a classic matte look. The front control plate in this design is made of glass which gives a glossy, reflective look, and the glass annoyingly reflects details in the room on the front panel in the same way as a window reflects the room at night. It's a minor point, but I just don’t care for it. A non-reflective coating on the glass would help. I also find the glass front also makes it somewhat harder to keep looking clean. - The on-device menu system is inherently more difficult to visualize and navigate given the limited resolution of the built-in screen. Fortunately, using the on-screen (projected to TV) menu system can work around this limitation. - Each input can be assigned a custom name to more closely match the actual input device. However, it seems that this model (along with so many others on the market) fails to acknowledge the existence of AppleTV, Roku, and others, and we must settle for lame preset "HDMI 1" and “HDMI 2” names for our brand-name streaming devices. Without support for "AppleTV", "Roku", and other preset names, then at least allowing for custom text input to fully customize device names would be extremely helpful. - Full user manual is available online, but it was hard to figure out where to find it. Perhaps the included Quick Start Guide could also include a prominent QR code to help facilitate easier access to the full manual. Summary These few cons aside, this really is a solid, modern, and highly customizable offering from JBL that provides more than enough power and features to serve well as the nucleus of your small-to-medium size home audio/theater system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sleek [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the sleek, glossy and minimalist look of the unit. The setup was relatively straightfoward. I have an older TV that doesn't have an HDMI output, the other options I have are the optical connection and the headphone jack connection, and the optical connection works great and comes through clear and adequate. I set up 2 front speakers and 2 for surround. The hole to insert the wire into are kind of tight for some of the wires I have, but otherwise it's straightforward; having the banana plugs might might this step much easier. Somehow the steps to set configuration points are not available in the user manual, so it took me a while to figure that you could cycle through the menu to get to the Setup option, where you can set up the default surround option and EQ (bass and treble only, no mids). The cool thing is that you could set up the distance of each speaker, making surround sound much more "3D" if that makes sense. Having figured out the default surround mode and EQ setting was great, coz before that I was setting those things up every time I turned on the system. I appreciate the option to dim the display and for it to turn off after a set time, and the unti to be on auto standby after a set time. The downside for me is the remote is not backlit, it's very hard to see what the buttons are in low light, so I have to commit them to memory a bit to press the right button. Having a remote, which is something we take for granted nowadays, is actually an improvement from the original system I used - which I had to turn on and off with a physical button on the unit. Overall I'm happy with this unit, it's lean and gives me what I need; there are many connections I'm not using yet, but I enjoy having that flexibility to expand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great addition to any home theater system! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the sleek look of the MA310, along with the numerous connectivity options. It did take a couple of tries to get it to sync up to our television, but once we did, it works excellent. The only thing I would change is to make the most recent connection a sticky setting. We have to switch the input to Bluetooth every time, which seems unnecessary. It’s excellent that we can change the speaker / output settings and alternate between Dolby, stereo, etc. overall, an excellent addition to our home theater system!
