Centerpiece for any Home Theater
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This theater receiver is a great centerpiece to my media cabinet. The large screen and RGB lights grab your attention but can be dimmed with a simple button on the front. The setup was very easy using the mobile app detailed in the instructions. This receiver allows you to set distance and volume for each individual speaker to fine tune your system. The second zone was very useful to send audio to another room and have it be controlled separately from the rest. Unfortunately there wasn’t a microphone to do a room calibration.

This is a review of the JBL MA9100HP A/V receiver
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] JBL MA9100HP and JBL 280F
This is a review of the JBL MA9100HP A/V receiver and a pair of the JBL 280F floor speakers. Let me start out by saying that this JBL system sounds great!
The 125w speakers are massive (44in high x 9 in wide {14” wide at base} x 16.5 in deep) and they include a tweeter, 8”main driver and 8” treble/base. Normal sound ports are on the back.
The receiver has only 8 buttons on the front and 11 buttons on the remote. The MA9100HP receiver has a color LED screen (2” x 6”) That’s the beauty of this system: Less buttons means less clutter. But more on-screen menus means total control of ALL aspects of this 9.2, 7.1, 5.1, Stereo 2.1 or 2.0 system. (Speaker count is up to to the individual)
From Spotify, Apple Airplay, Chromecast to online movies, TV, DVD’s, CD’s, tapes, phonographs, etc., I haven’t found one input that this JBL MA9100HP can’t handle. It’s even ATMOS compatible and it works great with my Cox cable service. I cannot say enough GOOD about this system that has Wi-fi, Bluetooth, digital inputs (HDMI), analog inputs and phono inputs.
I tested as many of these inputs as I could…ALL with ‘Thumbs Up’ results. (I don’t know what ‘Safe to turn beyond 11’ means on the unit’s main volume dial?)
Great job JBL! You knocked it out of the park with this system.

Unmistakable Sound
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the JBL MA9100HP a few weeks ago and I have been really enjoying playing around with the settings and options. I have it wired to two tower speakers and it was very easy to wire/install. I had to dive into the user’s manual to be able to really understand how this unit works. I’ve never had a receiver like this one and wanted to make sure I was using it to it’s abilities. With the receiver, you can use optical, HDMI, coaxial, analog, and Bluetooth for inputs. I have only used optical, HDMI, and Bluetooth but I appreciate the other options that I could use in the future. This has changed the quality of my family leisure time watching shows/movies or have dance parties with my two year old daughter. I figured out the optical and HDMI instantly but the Bluetooth took me a little longer to pair my device because you have to go to settings and find the pairing section. After I paired my device, it has been so easy to utilize and stream music. My phone was still connected when I was around 100’ away. The receiver is very large and heavy but it utilizes the size with how many inputs and outputs you can use. The sound quality that this receiver produces has been so clean and clear. With the tower speaks I really like the stereo 2.0 setting and I find that the treble and bass have a good mix there. The sound quality is just as good at a low volume as a high volume and it really fills the space well. I recommend the MA9100HP to someone who has space for a beast like this and also wants to have one of the best home theater systems available on the market. It really won’t disappoint.

A receiver that can grow with my future needs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just hooked up and using JBL MA9100HP Receiver. I paired this receiver with JBL STAGE 280F speakers in our tv room. First I have to say receiver was packaged very well and had good easy to read graphics on the box. I like that this receiver is very clean and sleek looking and looks good. My wife likes that we can change the led lights. Right out of the box the JBL MA9100HP was super easy to setup. It is labeled very well and easy to read. LCD display is also very neat clean and easy to read. Remote is minimal, which is what I like, easy to use. MA9100HP Is blue tooth compatible, WiFi compatible and has a lan hookup. I like that it has hdmi arc hookup. This is definitely a receiver which can grow with me and has lots of hook ups for future growth. JBL MA9100HP was a step up from a sound bar and if your looking to take the next step with better sound and something that’s expandable look no further. I would definetly pair this with the Stage Speakers. This receiver was designed to be used with these speakers but would work with any other speakers. MA9100HP has great quality which is what I always expect from JBL products. Never disappointed.
Pros: looks good, easy to setup, expandable. Easy to use produces great sound.
Cons: large footprint

Modern Convenience with Premium Quality
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This stereo is a mix of modern conveniece and old school quality delivery. Source systems can be connected wirelessly and get then delivered through good ol' fashioned copper wires. This stereo was very easy to setup. The definition of plug and listen! I hooked my stereo up to my internet via an ethernet cable. It downloaded any software that it needed automatically, then it was ready to go. Bluetooth works fantastic for playing music off of my phone and connecting to my smart TV. I also use an optical cable to directly connect from my TV to the stereo to ensure the highest sound quality.
The stereo has a user friendly digital interface that is navigated with the adjustment knobs. Tuning the treble and bass to my liking was a breeze. There are countless other options that can be adjusted to fine tune a sound system to the room!
I have this stereo hooked up to 2 JBL 280Fs and it is an incredible sounding system for 2.1. I am looking forward to adding many more speakers to complete the ultimate at-home theater system. Very impressed with this lineup!

The amp features optional backlighting that can match popular gaming consoles like PlayStation and Xbox, enhancing the visual appeal. The glass front panel is available in black or white (mine was black), and is designed to minimize fingerprints. The panel includes a large, clear display and minimal controls for a clean look. With my relatively poor vision, I had to sit close to the unit to reliably make proper sections.
Setting it up the MA9100HP was very easy with the JBL Premium Audio app, which lets you quickly connect to Wi-Fi, stream music, and access various services like TIDAL and Spotify. Additionally, the MA9100HP supports Bluetooth AptX Adaptive, Apple Airplay 2, Google Chromecast, and ROON for high-resolution audio streaming. I often stream Spotify from my PC to a Chromecast dongle that can be connected to any of my 5 two-channel systems so I will play around with the MA9100HP to see how best to connect it to my existing systems.
If you're into vinyl, you can connect a turntable directly to the MA9100HP and even switch to a Pure Analog mode for an authentic listening experience. This was one of my favorite features of the amplifier. I spent several hours listening to a variety of selections from my 200+ album titles. I’m not sure that they’ve ever sounded better!
The MA9100HP includes advanced calibration options to tailor the sound to your room perfectly. 0ne can use the Harman EzSet EQ app for quick and easy room calibration, or opt for Dirac Live calibration software (not included), to ensure the system is optimized for the best sound possible. I did not elect to use any calibration software as I moved the unit from a large, opening TV room to a smaller room set up strictly for listening. In this instance I didn’t believe that calibration software would improve the sound whereas speaker placement would be key.
In short, the JBL MA9100HP is more than just an amplifier; it's a gateway to superior sound and an integral part of a modern entertainment setup. Whether you’re setting up a new home theater or upgrading your current system, the MA9100HP is designed to impress.
