Solid construction, and it works very well.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced a GE compactor that frustrated me to no end. This KitchenAid model is fantastic so far. I really like the handle - it's solid. My previous compactor had only the foot release, and that always seemed flimsy (until it finally broke). So far so good!

Best Looking Compactor
Wouldn't be without a trash compactor. Love the concept. Whirlpool makes them all to the same dimensions to fit in the reserved under-counter space. This one has the solid pack option, and is a tad quieter than the others. Love the looks and the toe press button.

Built like a tank.

Which was still working but the trim pieces had worn out. I know trash compactors are not as popular as they were but we love ours.

Great Upgrade!

My "old" Kitchen Aid was a bit larger so a little bit of cabinet work had to be done (18" W down to 15"). Nice 5:1 compaction reduces my trips to the large trash container. Foot controls for the bin and activating switch. There is no key to lose! I'm very pleased with the appliance so far.

Beautiful Compactor
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A really well-made trash compactor. Quiet and attractive. Although one of the rear wheels came off when I installed it but I was able to fix that. It’s a bit wider than my previous GE compactor so was a tight fit but I was able to squeeze it in. Much better construction than GE. It’s also a bit shorter even at max height than the GE so I added a piece of 2” stainless steel at the top to trim it out. It looks great.

Why doesn't everybody have one of these!

I have had several during my life and this compactor is the equivalent of the Mercedes Benz. My weekly trash is so small now, nice tight compact. I am 90 yrs old and the turn on peddle is easy for me. It's nice and smooth. I love the handle, that is a real plus for me. For now I am happy with my decision to purchase this Kitchenaid. Very easy for me to operate and quiet.

Wow super compactor

I tell you what this whirlpool crushes garbage like no other. It put my other compactor to shame. I literally take out the garbage once a week with a family of four. I sometimes wonder how it could compact so much. Really amazing I’m very happy with my purchase.

LOVE MY KITCHENAID TRASCH COMPACTOR

It was still working great. All my new appliances are stainless steel. The kitchenaid compactor is a must in my world and matches beautifully with my kitchenaid dishwasher.

Can’t believe I waited so long to have one
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought as part of a remodel. This is well built and easy to use with great features. I have been throwing trash in for 2 weeks with plenty of room to spare. Would have filled 3 or 4 bags by now. Use solid pack at night and keeps it crushed. Amazing how much trash ends up in such a small bag. And big plus is room I now have under sink where I had a stinky barrel. Best appliance in kitchen.
