Top Loading Kitchenaid Microwave is terrific

The open and close buttons are so convenient.The unit has much power and works great. The popcorn sensors for mini and large bags work so well as well. Looks and runs great. Highly recommended.

Skeptical at first, but really like it now

We were a little skeptical about a drawer microwave as we had always had one over the stove. It took some getting used to but we are learning more and more and enjoying its features more and more. The defrost feature is great for meats in that it will definitely defrost it without cooking it as our old one did. It actually senses what's in it and adjusts the time and power to perform just what you wanted without over doing it. Starting to love it and will love it more as we explore what all the features do.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We get compliments about our microwave as it looks very sleek, and people love the drawer open feature. However, in a few reviews' complaints are abounded regarding the backlight feature. In my opinion, as long as the microwave is placed in a well-lit area in the kitchen it is not an issue. There is steam that gets in behind the clock but as long as the microwave drawer stays open until steam dissipates, I have no issues with it as well.

Exceptional design

I am not a user of microwaves but my fiancé is a huge fan of them. When remodeling my kitchen in July this was our compromise. We added an island and it was the perfect solution for us both! He loves everything about the function of it and I love that I don’t have to see it above my stove or sitting on my counters. Win! Win!

Ultimately Convenient
We've had our microwave for over 2 years and continue to enjoy it. Having it under the counter frees up the counter space for other items outside of appliances. That makes this microwave the ultimate inconvenience. I will say a few features that I wish it had were a night light for doing preparation in the evenings without having to turn on the lights. I also wish it had a tilting control panel. That would be great for tall people who then would not have to bend over to operate the microwave. With those two features in place this would be the absolute best microwave available. All in all, we still love it.

Purchased this for my new home three years ago. I still love as much today as I did when we moved in. I'm short so I always felt in harm's way reaching over my oven to use the microwave .. I always envisioned hot food spilling on me. Now it's up and out. Love all the features and would buy it again in a heartbeat.

I bought this in black stainless and it nearly matches my refrigerator. I am over the moon impressed with this microwave oven. Steams vegetables perfectly, reheats everything on the reheat setting to a perfect temperature. The convection oven is absolutely the best.
