The FreeFlex Third Rack fits glasses, mugs, bowls, silverware and cooking tools, freeing up room below for pots, plates and mixing bowls. Features

FreeFlex Third Rack
The largest third rack available has a deep, angled design that fits 6" glasses, mugs and bowls. It features rotating wash jets to clean items in the rack, a drying bar with tabs that help wick moisture off glasses and a removable utensil tray for cooking tools.

Fan-Enabled ProDry System
combines a heating element and fan for optimal drying performance. It circulates hot air around dishes after the wash cycle to give them a thorough dry. To activate, select the ProDry Option or Extended ProDry Option.

Advanced Clean Water Wash System
uses microfiltration to continuously remove food particles during the wash and rinse cycles and circulates clean water to dishes in all three racks. This allows dirty cookware and delicate glassware to be washed together in the same load.

ProWash Cycle

Rated 5 out of 5 by Daisybritt from Great loading capacity!! Large family Essential! We have a family of seven, with five kids between the ages of 2 and 12. This dishwasher fits all of our dishes for a day, including all their dishes from home-packed lunches, which is saying a lot! I’ll attach the pictures below because this was the most important deciding factor when I purchased the dishwasher – CAPACITY! It was also important for me that it dried the dishes all the way. Hellooooo cups, lids, and straws all being assembled and put away as soon as they come out of the dishwasher. Winner! It definitely delivers on this, but if you have something that has a lip on the bottom, you’ll need to make sure that it’s tilted to help it drain and dry off all the water. The top rack is amazing. It’s designed for cups, but I use it for the kids’ bottle lids and snack containers with rims on them, so they can be tilted and dry thoroughly. The middle rack can also hold regular cups and smaller water bottles, despite having the larger third rack above it. Middle rack can also be adjusted up or down for your needs.This dishwasher looks beautiful too. It has a matte stainless finish with polished stainless accents on the sides of the handle and a textured handle bar. Red accents on the side of the handle is shown in the photo. I don’t care about noise, but this dishwasher does happen to be quiet! I highly recommend for larger families or less frequent loads. Also, the rack tines / layout is so much better than the Bosch in my opinion. Bosch dishwashers are known for their longevity, but I hate the slanted lower tine placement – with the KitchenAid, the tines are all straight up, which allows you to be as flexible as you need with loading. The KitchenAid design (when using every single day or more than once a day) is so important. The light inside is also cool, and I debated whether or not to get a model with the light, and I could’ve gone either way. It’s neat and pretty, but not necessary if you want to save some money. This is a winner!

I can’t believe how much quieter it is compared to my older Kitchenaid dishwasher. You can barely hear it running. We’ve done about 5 or 6 loads and love the extra loading capacity. You can put a lot of dishes, cups, bowls and containers in that thing! Also, it’s the first dishwasher I have ever had that’s lighted and it’s very bright when we open the door and slide out the racks.

After all, it’s just there to clean dishes, right? Well, the new features are an incredible upgrade from my 15 year old Kenmore: 1) More dishes in same old space. I can go an extra day before running it. 2) Very quiet! Except for “moaning” noise twice early in wash cycle. 3)The third rack is wonderful - holds my huge coffee mugs as well as cereal bowls, etc., and extra utensils that don’t fit below. 4) The inside light is bright and makes it easy to see everything at a glance without pulling out the trays.5) Wine glass holders keep stemware safe 6) The digital readout is easy to see and different colored lights to show the cycle. White light lets you know dishes are clean. 7) Speaking of clean, I always rinse my dishes before putting them in, but the other night I left them with small amounts of food and the next morning they were sparkling clean. I bought a kitchenaid because my daughter has one and she loves hers. Her model was sold out so I had to go one up to get this one. Am not disappointed.

The prowash cycle is what I use, as it detects the amount of soil and how long it needs to wash. My dishes come out sparkling clean. The versatility in loading is amazing. I bake a lot and it handles my large bowls with no trouble. My husband loves the lighting as he can find his tea cups in the morning.

We really like the lights inside; having a lighted interior makes loading and unloading easier and more enjoyable . This washer holds a large volume of dishes, silverware and kitchen utensils since it has three racks. We like the large silverware holder which has a handle in the middle to easily remove it to load or put away your clean silverware. What also sold us on this dishwasher vs. other brands is how nicely the door opens and closes; it does not have a cheap feel like we noticed other brands did and the door is easy to open and closes. The washer is quiet and cleans well. We appreciate the exterior “bar”handle which we use to store and dry the dish towel. We are happy with our purchase and would buy this dishwasher again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Capacity is excellent, 3rd rack design really makes a huge difference. With our old 2-rack dishwasher, clean up after parties would take us 2-3 loads, with this dishwasher we can do it in 1 full load with just a couple of items left over that can easily fit with our next normal load. Even when full to capacity, dishes come out sparkling clean and dry, even plastics! With our old dishwasher, we used to have to shake water out of plastic tupperware, deli & takeout containers, and baby bottles after the cycle was completed and wait hours for the plastics to air dry before unloading them and being able to load the next day’s dirty dishes. With this dishwasher, our plastics come out bone dry with just the regular Pro Dry setting (have not had to use high heat or extended Pro Dry, which both take more time), which means we can unload everything as soon as the dishwasher is done running and can start putting in dirty dishes as they are used vs accumulating them on the counters and in the sink. The dishwasher racks slide really smoothly, which was an issue with our old dishwasher even though it also used ball bearings. And also really nice, the dishwasher shows how long the cycle is going to take before you start it, based on the cycle settings selected. So far we’ve had the dishwasher for a little over a month and run every night. No issues so far, and maintenance looks like it should be trivial since it has self cleaning filters. Overall, very happy customers with clean and dry dishes!

We have only had Kitchenaid dishwashers since moving to this house nearly 40 years ago. This one has a significantly redesigned 3-rack system that holds an amazing number of dishes in various configurations. The wineglass holders work well for our elongated glassware. Everything is cleaned to perfection. I highly recommend this product.

This one gets the water nice and hot too and gets the grease off of things. Very quite and the new rack design really does fit a lot more. The third rack is very useful for a variety of items not just utensils.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ChristineC. from Buy the Most Extended Multi Year Warranty Offered For the last 24 years of my life I have owned 3 Kitchen Aide Dishwashers. This will be my fourth unit I have purchased over that time. In terms of washing and drying dishes, it truly is an excellent machine. Just know that they are also plagued by extensive mechanical problems. I have had to replace main circuit boards, the entire washing assembly and a factory recall of multiple parts. An extended year maintenance plan will pay for itself many times over. In fact, my current dishwasher (the earlier version of this model), completely malfunctioned after 3.5 years into a 5 year warranty. This is the least amount of years I have gotten out of a KitchenAide dishwasher. The warranty company will be reimbursing me the entire original cost of the dishwasher and I will be applying it to this newer model. I know it sounds crazy to knowingly buy a machine that will have problems, but honestly, you can't beat how it performs in the meantime. No filters to clean, solid interior construction, all the features and versatility that you will ever be needed. I love this dishwasher model, it's been an absolute workhorse in our home.

Unit is extremely quiet and does a fantastic job of cleaning my dishes. The top rack is very functionable when on my previous dishwasher it was almost imposable to fit anything on it.
