This 19.9 cu ft. side-by-side refrigerator features the Preserva Food Care System. Its two independent cooling systems help keep food fresh while the FreshFlow Air Filter minimizes odors, and the Produce Preserver delays over-ripening. The counter-depth design gives the high-end look of built-in refrigerators and the PrintShield Finish resists fingerprints and smudges on the stainless exterior.

Beautiful fridge. The jewel of the kitchen.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I’m happy with this fridge. It’s beautiful. The exterior stainless steel and handles are solid. The interior LED lighting is bright. The water filler is fast and I like that it measures ounces as it’s filling. The ice cube maker doesn’t hold a lot of ice but seems sufficient. Rating this 5 stars, but there are two things that I would say could be better: (1) around the top edges of the door frame where plastic meets the stainless steel there seems to be some glue that has oozed out and hardened. (2) the KitchenAid emblem on the upper right looks slightly crooked to my eye, like maybe a mm or 1/32”. Both of these I don’t notice on a day to day, but if I stand there and analyze the fridge they become slightly noticeable. Happy with the fridge for a great price.

Unit is quite and works as manufacturer listed. Now, we will see if the quality stands up to the ones in the past and this becomes my garage frig in 10 years, for the next 20.

Love everything about this refrigerator!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all it is beautiful on the outside and I love the no print stainless finish. I am a huge fan of the side by side. French doors bug me because you have to open two doors to find what you are looking for and many times you are just looking.... Also I don't like to have to bend down and dig through a freezer drawer. The interior of this unit is well lit with vertical lighting running the length of the posterior wall, a big improvement from older models. I also like the convenience of the exterior water and ice access. The interior water dispensers with french door models are so awkward and require two hands to get water. The positives of this model far outweigh any negatives of a side by side.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the first 2 door refrigerator I have ever had. It looks beautiful ! It is efficient and very quiet. The front of it can be easily cleaned with water and a soft cloth. No need for silver cleaner. Love the freezer being on the side rather than on the very bottom. Also the adjustable shelves on the outer part inside makes it so flexible and you can decide where you want them.Makes it so easy to get things out of it. I have had it since June 14th and no problems. Absolutely would recommend this one!

Very happy with our new refrigerator!

It's smaller and was chosen because I am tired of finding ancient food in the back of the refrigerator and am learning to use more of what I buy and I'm choosing food more carefully. I'm not buying food I might want to use 'someday' just because it looks interesting. The clear visibility of the shelves and spaces are excellent and the tips I received from KitchenAid were really useful.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Generally good. The depth is right for the space we have. If there's a couple of things that kinda bug me it's that they don't send enough shelf units for the doors. Each one needs one more shelf. Also, the bin drawers in both the refrigerator and the freezer do not glide well. They are kind of herkie jerky. You need to work on that. Lastly, the refrigerator side door does not self-close. Our last refrigerator did, so I'm constantly leaving this one's open until I remember to look to see if I closed it. The exterior water and ice operation is very nice though. We like the feature where it counts the ounces of water dispensed.

Great fridge, just watchout for the ice and water
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a month ago and I'm happy with the refrigerator. The only thing I'm not thrilled with is the ice and water dispenser. You have to hold the glass at the very top of the dispenser to avoid splashing water on the water side and avoid ice chips and cubes flinging out on the ice side. Other than that, the fridge is great. Love the lighted inside of the fridge and the metal rim on the shelves is a really nice touch.

Great storage options
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this to replace a 5 year old Samsung that had multiple service calls on the ice maker. We moved it to the garage and bought the Kitchenaid. So far it has been wonderful. We like the side by side freezer and refrigerator access. We are hoping the reliability is as good as the older model we had in a previous home. The storage options on the doors and interior are very good as we have more options for tall milk, juice, tea, or soda bottles.

Very solid refrigerator
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was attracted to the KitchenAid brand as it is a step up in quality from the standard appliance brands. I had a previous refrigerator which ran for 30 years, and I could hope for a repeat of such performance. I was attracted to this model as it has dual evaporators, which means the refrigerant going to the freezer is on a separate line from that going to the refrigerator. This will result in more even temperatures in both the refrigerator section and the freezer, and less wear and tear on the compressor. Also, I wanted a side-by-side model so the ice cube maker would be in the freezer, with the dispenser at normal standing height. I didn't want to have to bend down every time to access the freezer portion, as with a bottom freezer. The price point was above my range, but November sales made it attractive, and I bought an entire kitchen appliance package for less than the list price of the refrigerator.
Some other refrigerators, even less expensive models, have more bells and whistles than this model, but this has some features which are very nice. I tell myself the design effort went into building a better quality product, rather than a lower quality product with more features. I'm able to set the target temperature of the refrigerator and freezer portions in one degree increments. It doesn't have continuous readout of the internal temperatures, which was on my wish list, but after monitoring the internal temperatures with a digital thermometer for a month, I'm convinced it holds the set temperatures very well and I don't need to worry about it. The water and ice dispensers work very well, with back-lighting LEDs behind the paddles, which work very well as nightlight for the kitchen. In addition to normal water dispensing, the water dispenser has a measured dispense mode, which I'm finding to be very convenient. It needs to be calibrated first to dispense 8 ounces, which is easy enough to do. Then I can push the button for dispense mode, which then displays plus and minus signs to add or subtract from 8 ounces. So if a recipe calls for a cup and a half of water, I can set it for 12 ounces and dispense it without having to use measuring cups. The keypad also has settings for max-cool, to cool the refrigerator and freezer down quickly, such as after adding warm leftovers. It also has a max-ice, which will focus on making as much ice as quickly as possible as it is used, such as for a party.
One idiosyncrasy of mine is that I like to take the vegetable bin out of the refrigerator and put it on the counter, pick and chop the vegetables I want to use, and then put the bin back. With other brands, the vegetable bin can be difficult to replace, but this refrigerator has nylon rollers on the bins which allow them to be removed and replaced very easily. That was something I tested in the store before buying.
The interior walls are plastic rather than stainless steel, like my previous refrigerator. While I would have preferred a stainless steel interior, I got over that within a week. I keep telling myself the design effort went into a better functioning appliance and not cosmetic niceties.
The LEDs in the refrigerator section are very bright and light up every shelf of the interior nicely. The freezer only has LEDs lighting up two shelves, and the other shelves can be dark when they are are filled with items. Additional LEDs in the freezer section would be nice. The refrigerator also has receptacles to hold a carbon filter for circulated air, and also a filter to absorb ethylene gas from ripening fruits and vegetable, slowing the ripening process. This filter can either be put in one of the storage bins or on the wall of the refrigerator section. Each filter lasts for 3 months, and has an indicator to tell when it is time to replace it.

Best new refrigerator ever.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator replaced a 2005 model that was working well, except parts were not available for the Deli, Vegetable and Meat drawers. So bought a new one. And, Oh Boy! What a delightful difference. The interior lighting is simply theatrical, the filtration systems for water and air are more functional, and the ice maker is simply awesome, especially the dispenser that doesn't put any ice cubes on the floor. It's quiet, good looking and fits the space exactly. Way to go Kitchenaid.
