Works well, but requires frequent replacement
Works well. Water tastes crisp. Removes chlorine tap water taste. However, the water slows to a trickle after only a month of moderate use. It seems that a filter this expensive should last more than a month. All previous Kitchen Aid filters lasted longer.

Purchased a fridge 2 months ago and filter is bad already. Can't imagine why Ai need to pay that much for a filter that lasts one third of the recommended time. Price is crazy.

Too expensive!
Refrigerator only 4 months old and filter needs replacing. Can’t find them anywhere and way too costly. Bought 2 different brands which claimed the fit this model and had to return them.

Water Filter cost too much and cannot be found. This is a rip- off from Whirlpool. I have another Whirlpool that is the same as this one with a cheaper filter much easier to install. Whirlpool should be ashamed for doing this to the consumer…

Filter impossible to find and double the price.
Filter only last a a couple of months. Impossible to find. Even their own site references the wrong filter. They won't show picture of both ends of the filter to verify it's the correct one.

Horrible Filter
Fridge is awesome. The filter is horrible. Bought the fridge end of May of 2024 and had to replace the overpriced filter by the end of July. The water is down to a trickle again at the end of September. The EDRARXD1 filter has no substitute as far as I can find. WHIRLPOOL. FIX. THIS. PROBLEM!

Great Fridge - incredibly frustrating water filter
Purchased the Kitchenaide fridge about 6 months ago after moving into a new home and loved the fridge at old house so much we bought the same one. Fast forward 6 months and come to find out the water filters on this "same fridge" have been changed to the Water Filter A - which cannot be found anywhere nor do they have any comparable "generic" versions. Very frustrating that unnecessary modifications are implemented at the expense of the consumer.
