Xfinity 1.2 Gigabit

The speed wasnt really the issue for me, but my farthest security cams kept dropping connection. This CAX80 is getting solid 1.4gb wired, 400 mbs at the farthest points on 5ghz channel. Ive got 20 devices running and the security cams are staying on. Glad I picked this unit up. Setup easy, swapped it out, entered everything same as old network, was connected and running in 30 minutes. Glad I picked this up.

Overlooked powerhouse
This is a very good router/WIFI unit. I use it as a whole home wired system for my satellite and TVs without any problems and signal. The WIFI also gives me a strong signal for laptop and gaming systems.

Purchased this over 2yrs ago and I still have no complaints. Used it with xfinity and now wow due to xfinitys prices kept going up. At 1st with xfinity, connections and speeds were in and out..they blamed my cable modem device ..which was only 6 months old, but I had a router that was several years old so I took the plunge and brought this to have more room on the shelf, lol...issued remained and good Ole xfinity continued to blamed my device, even though they admitted seeing an issue on their end, and knowing this was a brand new device. After 3 tech visits finally got a guy to check the signal from the pole going to my house, acknowledging an issue with the outside house signal yet again, and he said the issue is the line running on the poles. Xfinty then worked on the street pole lines, wella no issues and 2yrs later no issues on my end. Had the 1.2 gig speed with xfinty now I have the 1 gig with wow..about 3 ethernet devices and 6 devices for wifi with 1 extender for the backyard garage and all is good😀

Significantly better internet
I recently upgraded to the Nighthawk modem/router and it has significantly improved my internet experience. It can handle the many devices I have that rely on a strong Wi-Fi connection to work smoothly. I have now had it set up for a week with no issues. The setup process through the Xfinity app was seamless as well. Would highly recommend!

Fast and reliable connections
I had a lousy connection with my last router & finally upgraded to this CAX80 and absolutely love it. My connections now are extremely reliable and fast & we don't have any problems with connecting to all of our computers, tablets, cellphones and security cameras. This router was definitely worth the cost. The setup wasn't as easy as it could have been, but that was more of a problem with my internet provider

Fast and easy!
Although my modem and router (a NETGEAR) still worked fine, it turns out my 10 year old equipment was severely outdated and I needed to upgrade. I had been paying for a speed through Xfinity that I assumed just would work but boy was I wrong. Months and months paying for a speed and not looking into what my modem and router were actually outputting. So I did some research and found the ax6000 to be the top dog. And boy was I right. The setup was easy for this modem/router combo. The issues I faced were converting all of my devices and smart tech over to a new router. That was the hassle. Not the router. I also wanted to not buy two pieces of equipment. Long story short I tested my speed before disconnecting my old router and modem and I found I was getting 85 MB per second when I was paying for 1200 MB per second through Xfinity. Embarrassing.
I hooked up the new Netgear, bought cat8 Ethernet cables. Removed two splitters from my cable lines that I didn’t need nor realize. And my speed instantly jumped from 85mb to 850-900 mbps! Boom! Super thrilled. However there is still an issue as I am not getting the 1200mbps I should be from Comcast and I have yet to source that problem. Calling xfinity did nothing. They go through their normal checks and signal checking on their end. Guy said on their ne they are sending 1150mbps out to my router. But I can’t get higher than 900. So if there’s a way to reply to these reviews and someone has a solution I’d appreciate it. The only thing I can think is to replace the cable wire that runs in the attic to the router but if xfinity days it’s reporting 1150 going to my router then that shouldn’t be it.
Speed tests are all over the map from different sites. Xfinity ones range from 750-930mbps. Others I’ve gotten 900-1.0 gbps.
Regardless I am thrilled with this router modem combo from NETGEAR. Setup was easy, it was more or less plug and play. App works fine. The armor 30 day protection seems useful and has blocked some threats already.
Highly recommend. 5 stars.
