Great reliable safe microwave drawer

We bought it in 2017 and have been very happy with its ease of use and performance. The magnetron gave it up this Friday:-) As we use the microwave daily a new one was ordered the same day and was delivered the next day. I am 76 yrs old and recovering from a bone marrow transplant but I uninstalled the old one and installed the new one easily. 4 screws and a 3 prong plug and play.. looking forward to another 10 years of worry free microwaving:-)

Game Changer in the Kitchen

Lovin’ the drawer!
Never liked having an over the stove microwave. When I renovated my kitchen I decided to go with the Sharp drawer microwave. It is so convenient and no more steamy dishes coming out at eye level- not great for a shorty like me.

drawer will not open
You have to press the open button. If it still doesn’t open, that is an electrical problem. Is it plugged in? Check your fuse box for a tripped fuse.

can the drawer be removed for easier cleaning?
Not that I can tell or have tried. I use a microwave cover over anything when I use it; however, my adult sons do not. Very easy to wipe the drawer out. Hope this helps. Also has been my favorite microwave ever!

There is a thin brown removable rubber strip along the edge of the drop down panel; is that supposed to remain or do we remove it? We just installed a SHARP SMD2470AS/YE Microwave Drawer and aren’t sure if we are supposed to keep it there or toss it.
That's a magnetic strip that helps hold the panel closed. The strip is held in place with adhesive tape that isn't very strong. Mine fell off after a month. It's not strictly needed. If you do want to use it, you may want to use some glue to hold it in place.
