Like upgrading from a gas to a turbo-diesel pickup
I had to either fix or replace my 4 1/2 year old Maytag which was supposed to be a top of the line heavy duty machine - the gear case failed which appears to be a common failure and Maytag knows about it, but won't stand behind it. I had heard of Speed Queen so I started researching. It was nice to find out many of the parts in their commercial machines for commercial use and laundromats was also in the home consumer product. From the first load of laundry, I could tell immediately that the Speed Queen machine was a much more solid, well built machine that my Maytag. It was worth the extra money. I can also tell that my clothes are coming out cleaner. And can't beat that this model comes with a seven year parts and labor warranty.

Love, love, love!!
Don't waste your time on anything else!! I've been through LG, GE, and Maytag. I loved my LG but it started making noises after 4 years pkus it smelled and yes I washed the washer monthly. GE, had for a few days....NOPE, no water. Maytag lasted 2 years, but we hated it from the get go!! No water washed the clothes. They thought the clothes swishing around against eachother was good enough, NOPE. Speed queen, my son (11 yo) even noticed his clothes smelled so much better. Speed queen uses water to clean the clothes. What a concept, What a difference!!

Excellent Machine
We had gone thru 2 GE washing Machines in 8 yrs. We wanted a machine that was built to last. The 7 yr warranty showed us that the company has real faith in their product. While the machine cost more than we originally want to pay for a washing machine, We are exteremely pleased with the product. The functions and performace are both outstanding. We are very pleased with our purchase.

Should've bought a long time ago!
After wasting years with Maytag and Whirlpool washers that constantly broke, we finally got a Speed Queen. It's soo quiet! My wife also loves that it actually washes our clothes, without damaging them. We're regretting not buying one years ago. We're never going back to the "disposable" brands again.

Absolutely love my washer!
I was in the market for a new washing machine; I was not happy with my old washer which would rarely finish a load of laundry without me having to resort the clothes. I did everything I could to fix the other washer even upgrading the suspension rods. It was better for a bit but not great. So, when we went into the market for a new washer (my husband was tired of me saying 'I hate that washer" when I heard the familiar bumping when it was off balance), we decided on the Speed Queen due to the reviews. I've had the washer for a few months now and I am not disappointed! The washer is so quiet and I have never had to re-sort the clothes because of balancing issues.
Now while I have zero regrets about getting this washer, I will say that I wish they had larger drum options for people like me who like to do all their laundry on one day.
Also, I would not say that this washer cleans better than any other washer I have ever owned but the wash cycles are also shorter.
Overall Value: The price point is a bit more than any other washer brand on the market. That being said, I have ZERO regrets about paying the higher price. It is shocking how quiet this washer is when it is in wash and spin cycle. The wash cycles are also shorter than any other machine I have used; I remember the first load in my washer - it was shocking how fast the machine worked and that I didn't hear a single bit of noise. I didn't even realize when the cycle ended. Overall, it can be daunting to buy a new washer especially when the price is so much more than the other washers out there - but once you do one load of worry-free laundry and the machine does what it is supposed to do without any interference from you - that peace of mind is so worth it!

This is my first Speed Queen and at almost 70, I've tried many. This is by far the best washing machine I have ever owned. It cleans better yet doesn't tear up my clothes. I can load it to capacity and it still cleans everything well. It is also very quiet. I'll never go back!

First experience with Speed Queen. So far so good.
After dealing with a greasy film on the barrel of the washer, things have gone really well. We had done an initial wipe out of the barrel before running any water as the instructions indicated. But after that was done and we did the initial load, there was more of the film that we had originally. A firm wiping with cleaning vinegar seems to have resolved it. Since then, everything had been just great!!
