Many of the Thermador freestanding ranges in our inventory come with an assortment of nifty features. Many models use Pedestal Star® burners to improve flame distribution. Compared to round burners, the star design provides 56% more flame distribution, and it reduces cold spots. Depending on the model you select, your range may have up to six Pedestal Star® burners. You'll also find the ExtraLow® option on many models. This setting is ideal for simmering your favorite sauces. With ExtraLow®, your burner will be cycled on and off, ensuring that it will maintain very low temperatures, and you'll be able to simmer your food without stirring. Many Thermador freestanding ranges also include at least one telescopic rack in the oven. Telescopic racks provide extra support for heavy coookware, so they're perfect for roasting pans and casserole dishes. The racks are built to dip down a bit when you pull them out at the front of the oven, and this makes it easy to insert and remove your pans. Easy-grip handles are included on most of the oven racks that are sold with Thermador freestanding ranges. The handles help with loading and unloading your dishes, and they're an important safety feature. While older ovens require you to place your hand on the rack to move it, you can move your Thermador rack with the handle itself. It takes much less effort than moving traditional racks. As you move the rack with the handle, it will glide smoothly and easily. Some Thermador freestanding ranges are also equipped with griddle surfaces. The griddle area on your range is a non-stick surface that heats evenly. You can use your griddle to make burgers, eggs, hash browns, grilled vegetables, and more. Many of these ranges are also designed to work with Thermador's Home Connect® app that you can download on your smartphone. Once you connect your range to the app, you'll receive informative notifications about your range, and you'll be able to use it to control your range remotely.
