Rated 5 out of 5 by from I try to smoke as much as possible Overall - Yes. Convenient, well built, quality, and expensive. I know feel I have the best of both worlds between my weber kettle and traeger ironwood. Pros - Sleek design, quality build, easy to move on wheels, thick gauge around lid, easy to assemble, very large would never need anything bigger, easy to navigate controls that are fun to use, easy to connect wifi and probes, smoke and temperature are consistent, Pellets are easy to fill, large storage shelf underneath, easy to clean, super smoke function solves the issue with the underwhelming smoke you get from pellet grills, there is a light that turns on when you open the lid, the app is nice. Cons - Expensive, Accessories are expensive, pellet smoke is not the same quality as real wood or charcoal. The difference between charcoal and pellets is obvious, but I think the difference with real would would require an experienced enthusiast. The indicator to tell you how low on pellets you are is not accurate. The laser sits right over the hole where the pellets drop and so it always reads lower than what is actually in the hopper, wifi does not have good range, my phone can connect across the street, but the wifi goes in and out sitting in my driveway close to the house. This makes it difficult to monitor through the app as it disconnects frequently. Neighbors will think you are better than them because this model looks so much better than the others.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Significant upgrade from my Traeger Pro 575 Bought the Ironwood XL to replace my Traeger Pro 575 which I bought in 2019 had rusted through. Everything about it is impressive - quality of materials seems to be a significant upgrade. Assembly was pretty straightforward (the video is definitely more helpful than the assembly instructions that came with it) and took about 1.5 to 2 hours (mostly because I just took my time). Grilled some steaks tonight (first-time use), and the smoke flavor was a night-and-day difference from the Pro 575 - so much better. Can’t wait to smoke some brisket and pulled pork later this month.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ironwood XL- let’s go baby! My Ironwood XL is perfect! It’s big, able to cook small portions, big portions, and has the versatility to cook more than just meat. Everything I wanted in my Traeger!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don’t wait! Couldn’t be happier with my purchase. I’ve had my eye on it for years. Almost committed to the Timberline, but the price was the only thing thing that stopped me. The accessories to make it perfect set it over the top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from State Fair special Ironwood XL in Iowa Just received the Ironwood XL today. Seasoned and ready to go. Assembly was a bit long but that may be the person Bit disappointed in the rotating wheels that both fell out when i lifted grill to move. Would appear they were not properly seated during manufacturing process.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hated Grilling. Not any more I haven’t done anything on a grill for a few years. My wife has constantly been asking me to grill something. The fact is I disliked the grill I had. After much research I decided to make the purchase of the Ironwood XL. First cook of baby back ribs was today. Tomorrow is brisket. Very satisfied with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use. Love having the app. It’s so hot I use this to cook everything from breakfast sandwiches to pulled pork. It’s so easy to use. I know nothing about smoking meat and have made delicious pulled pork, ribs, chuck roast, shotgun shells and smoked cream cheese.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new Ironwood XL Happy with my new Ironwood XL. The bigger cooking area and the upgraded display controls was a big selling point for me. This pellet smoker with all of features is a great bargain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Ironwood XL Plenty large, well built and easy to operate. Only had this 2 weeks and have cooked rib eyes, chicken and ribs, and a beef brisket. All turned out fantastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Next level There is a reason it is so expensive, it’s well made, is super easy to use and is perfect for low and slow. The fact that you can monitor the grill temp, meat temp and pellet levels from your phone anywhere is next level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Smoker I have owned an earlier version of Treager for over 10 years. But the Ironwood XL is amazing I absolutely love this Treager. Everything I have smoked on it to this day has some of the best smoke flavor I have tasted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lil Mama Smok Cooked for the first time on my Traeger Ironwood XL on Memorial Day and have to say I was very pleased and satisfied. All said and done I named my Ironwood Lil Mama Smok and received all kinds of compliments. Thank You Traeger

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Smoker Changed the Game for me I switched from a gas grill to this smoker. If I would of known what I was truly getting myself into, I would of done it a long time ago! The Traeger is incredibly easy to use, fun to cook with you, and the app has so many amazing recipes - I am using it almost every single night.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Bomb I am a user of the Gen1 Pro. And i got my mileage out of it over the last 8 years. My upgrade to Ironwood XL was a great move. The size and amenities with this grill are awesome. The integration with the WiFi App is very nice. The Pellet Hopper is also a very nice feature. I do have to say moving to a larger grill takes a bit more to heat up as well as it uses more pellets so taking a bit to adjust. Overall very well satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s a beautiful thing Traeger takes it to a whole other level! Had a different pellet grill, which is good, but this grill is simply amazing. Just a whole other level of smoking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beast XL The XL is massive and able to handle all of your cooking needs. I upgraded from the Pro 34 which was a tough decision, but this Beast includes WiFi which I first thought was ridiculous. Now I don't know how I grilled without it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Ironwood XL is my fifth Traeger; by far the best and easiest to use. Meats are exceptionally good!!! I am completely saving and have recommended highly !!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great smoker It wasn’t easy to put together. I remember reading what other buyers said about the difficulties they had. There are no written instructions, only online video with no verbal instructions. I had to reinstall a few things a couple of times. It took me 3 hours to put it all together. But after all that, I primed it and was able to smoke my first meat. It was fabulous, mouth watering, perfection! I ended up buying a few additional pieces to help with my mastery.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best design and engineering of any pellet grill I have owned several pellet grill brands. I have owned Yoder, Memphis, Recteq, Camp Chef and Pitts and Spitts. The engineering and design of the Traeger Ironwood XL surpasses all of them by a long shot. First of all the grease management system is the best I have seen as is the removeable fire pot for cleaning. I have never in all the bands I have owned had a pellet grill put out the amount of good smoke (thin blue smoke) this does even without the super smoke on. With the super smoke on it is out of this word with good smoke production. The controller is definitely the best in the business and the integrated app has options most don't have. The WIFI was very easy to set up and was working within 3 minutes. The lights that come on when the lid is opened are fantastic. Most brands have them in the interior of the grill and are worthless after 2 cooks. These lights are not to the lid on the exterior of the barrel and do not get covered in smoke. The grill when running is very quiet. I have had other brands where I am laying in bed and can hear the blower motor and auger running and were pretty loud. The pop and lock rail system is very awesome. I have bought the front shelf, Basket, drink holder and 2 roll holder/dispensers, One for paper towel and one for butcher paper. I have found the cooking surface to be very even with temp. I have cooked almost everything I always cook and everything has awesome bark and very good smoke flavor. I cooked a brisket overnight and it used about a half hopper of pellets. The lighted pellet hopper and pellet sensor tells the percentage of pellets left and has a low pellet alarm as well. Cleaning after cooking is a breeze, The porcelain grates are easy to clean with a hot cloth and wiped off. After a 12 hour cook very little ash. The fire grate comes out and you can vacuum out under it. I like the pellet auger drops the pellets down into the burn grate so you will never get back burn.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best smokers on the market Great product!! This my second Treager and their products just keep getting better. This grill cooks so well, no point in going out to eat for dinner. Everything I make on my new treager turns out better the top restaurants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magnificent beast of a smoker This is my first Traeger. After decades with standard BBQs I decided to take the plunge and ordered the Ironwood XL. I’ve fallen in love with this beast of a machine. Setup was pretty quick and easy but takes two strong guys to lift the main body (If you need to go up or down stairs or more than 20 yards you may need more help). The only setback was it took a couple tries to get it connected to my WiFi. After that we were off and cooking. The grill heats up quick and holds temperature well. The insulation is amazing. Even at high temp I can hold my hand on the lid. I like to grill year round so this is important to me. It was 40 degrees and pouring rain a couple days ago and I smoked a ribeye roast with no trouble. In the first few weeks we’ve done baby backs, ribeye roast, salmon, pork loin, veggies, potatoes - you name it. And it’s all been great!
