About this Item

Overview

Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker Smoker 18"

The first bite of tender, fall-off-the-bone meat makes taking it low-and-slow worth every moment. The Smokey Mountain Cooker smoker has two cooking grates for smoking multiple items at once, and easily adjustable dampers for precision heat control. There's nothing quite like waiting all day for dinner.

Grill Specifications:

  • Fuel Type: Charcoal
  • 18 in. - Diameter
  • 481 sq in. - Total Cooking Area
  • Built-in lid thermometer
  • Glass-reinforced nylon handle
  • Plated steel cooking grates

Features:

Superior Heat Retention
The porcelain-enameled lid, bowl, and center retain heat for consistent smoking. The finish also prevents rusting, cracking, and peeling while withstanding high temps.

Extra Smoking Capacity
The two cooking grates provide ample room for smoking multiple large items, such as a turkey and two layers of ribs, at once.

Help Control Temperature
The water pan helps regulate temperature inside of the smoker and adds moisture to the heat.

Precise Heat Control
Control the temperature of your smoker by easily adjusting the dampers. Closing the dampers completely will cut the oxygen flow to help extinguish coals.

Displays Smoker Temperature
The built-in lid thermometer displays the internal temperature of the grill so that you know when to adjust the heat.

Consolidates Fuel For Efficient Burning
The charcoal chamber holds fuel together so that it burns efficiently. It also prevents ash from falling into the dampers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smoker Really well made. Have had a couple years and really enjoy using it. Very easy to use and get set up. Once you get the temp set it holds the temperature well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We like the improvements!! Bought a new Smokey Mountain to replace our 15-20ish year version. (It still works, but not perfectly - giving it to son.) Biggest noticeable improvements are a deeper water pan and a built-in thermometer- both really good improvements! So far, we smoked 3 pork butts, salmon & some chicken wings - all good! Smoker does not run as hot as previous version, so wood & charcoal last longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Three bone in turkey breasts CDN Thanksgiving. Lower tech is still awesome tech. The original design of this model is still on point. The water pan is a critical part on startup to smoking/cooking. Keep an eye on the water level to keep up humidity inside and temp moderation stable. I recently top racked three bone in turkey breasts. Brined and rubbed. The cooking instructions/briquette/charcoal consumption is an important reference table. You really do need close to 100 blocks for poultry (and the fact I had 22nd of meat). Starting with the Weber chimney, and letting a good base of coals to develop takes 25-30 mins ideally, before the middle ring is placed on the base. Don’t rush your coals. Using two Weber chimneys would speed things up. Smoke wood consumption is low. 4-5 chunks of applewood was plenty. My cooking time was shorter than anticipated, birds were perfect. Use a meat thermometer. The mounted dome thermometer is accurate!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Smoker So for it smokes great and easy to control the temperature. The 18 inch was the only size I could find locally and I almost wished I had ordered the 22 because it has a larger cook surface. Everything I smoke on it tasted awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Novice nirvana. This is my first smoker and results far exceed our expectations. So far salmon, ribs and turkey results have blown us away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased easy use. For what i paid for this smoker i really cant complain. I picked it up on a clearance sale. I was looking at the 22 inch model instead, but for less then half of the price I went with this one and I am not disappointed. It was well packaged and easy to put together, took about 30 mins with the help of my boy. It was just easier to have a little help. I fired it a couple days later for the first time. I used a chimney starter about half full over a almost full basket of coals, poured in the water, (2-1/2gallons) adjusted the vents like the manual said and it went right to temp in about 15 mins. I was really surprised by that. Put a 6 or 7pound pork butt on and put a couple probes in, one in the meat the other on the grate. This smoker held temp over the next 8 hour or with little adjustment. The probe on the grate and the on gauge on the lid didnt very from one to the other by very much. When done i still had plenty of coals left and the water bowl was still half full. I figured i could have have cooked for several more hours without adding to either. Which leads to the only thing that might be a bit difficult to do is to add water. The side door isnt quite high enough to get water in the pan, unless you open the lid and pour it from the top which the you loose heat, and have to pour around what you cooking or take it out. I guess ill cross that bridge when i come to it. Meat came out falling apart and juicy. I cant wait till i have time to put it in use again. Over all a very well built smoker that's easy to use and produces results that even a novice or pro would be proud of. And if it's like my other webers will last. Im very pleased with it so far and recommend it to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Addition Gave up on electric smoker because I never could get the rich taste I was looking for - great choice this smoker is amazing! Easy setup holds heat wonderfully and the quality of bullet is better than anticipated. Have a Weber Genesis II gas grill so now my deck appears to be sponsored by Weber. The flavor of the meat was awesome and I was able to hold a steady heat for three hours with no problems. Great smoker for a someone just getting started smoking over charcoal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smoking bliss I am very impressed with the Weber Smokey Mountain. Having never used one before, I just followed the instructions that came with it and on my first cook I got over 12 hours of smoking time!!! Without adding more fuel. Very easy and very impressive!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great grill, great smoker I've only used this twice but am impressed: once for a multi-hour smoking, once for grilling. Both turned out great. It's made for smoking but adjusts easily for grilling. The cover, included, makes it easy to protect the cooker. I've been a fan of this kind of smoking, with a water bath between the coals and the meat. I've had a couple of similar cookers but this Weber outshined both of them. I don't like briquets (too much ash) and use charcoal. Closing off the vents of this smoker, when the food is done, results in less ash with charcoal and, always, some left over which I use the next time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Smoker and Easy to Use I bought this for my dad for Father's Day and we've loved using this product. We've made pulled pork, ribs, and tritip. The smokey flavor with woodchunks is stronger then most restaurants I've been to. Cleanup is easy if you foil the water pan, and use some Easy Off BBQ spray on the grates. If you're thinking of getting this for a griller don't hesitate to buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No tech works best. No tech works best. Very well built with quality material. After disappointing experiences with electric and forced air smokers I decided to give this no tech smoker a try. On my first cook I was surprised how easy it was to control the temperature and once set how consistently it was maintained.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smokey Mountain Newby First time Smoking Pork butts and shoulders on the Weber Smokey Mountain and could not be any more pleased with this bad boy! We did purchase a weber charcoal chimney with some paraffin cubes and the Weber blue tooth thermometer with a very easy to use free app that monitors your temps without having to open the grill losing heat. I have to tell you, the smell drifting throughout the back yard is incredible! After approx.12 hours we brought in to let it rest for around an hour then it was on! Love Love this thing! One more thing, we have a weber kettle grill that is almost 30 years old and is always stored outdoors, only replaced the top grills a few times. Still rocks!!! Thats Weber Quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A BEAUTY OF A SMOKER Love this smoker. Took a bit to learn how to adjust the temp but once I figured that out it was smooth sailing. My back bacon and pork roast were amazing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SOOO Happy With My WSM I am a long-time Weber customer. I recently purchased an 18.5 WSM, which adds to my two kettles (Performer and a 35-year-old kettle) and my four-burner Spirit gas grill. I love to slow-cook all types of meats and dishes like bacon-mac-and-cheese, whole-baked potatoes, cabbage, and beans. My new WSM is fantastic for slow, smoke-infused, fall-apart tender cooks. I love the quality, value, and results. I wish I had not waited so long to purchase the new WSM.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Smoker and We'll Worth it I finally took the plunge into smoking, and I have been told from multiple sources that this is the best smoker for your money. I am extremely satisfied with its performance, and set up is simple. I have successfully cooked brisket, ribs, and pork shoulder on this thing and I'm very happy with the results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with WSM 18" I couldn't be happier with the Smokey Mountain 18". I have done ribs and chickens on it and it is very easy. It holds temperature very well plus the dampers are all easily adjustable. This one is hard to beat for a great cooker that is easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior way to smoke. I waited decades too long to get this WSM 18 inch. I bought two of them. Have done to cooks with baby-back ribs and they both came out great. It’s true that you can set it and forget it. Goes for hours at steady temps. Love them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for beginners. Easy to learn to use - lots of helpful youtube videos on how to smoke many different meats using the same smoker. Easy to clean and set up. I did experience flames while smoking hamburgers that melted the thermometer grommet but Weber sent me a new one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waited too long Excellent grille. Easy setup and well made. The access door on the side is a little flimsy but seems to work as designed. Still learning how best to stabilize temps but haven’t had any major swings. The smoker seems to want to be between 250*-275*

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great smoker! Assembly instructions were easy to follow and uncomplicated. For my first cook, it took a little bit of adjusting to get the temperature in the smoking sweet spot but that was expected. Filling the ring and using the minion method, I got a good 8 hours of cook time. There is plenty of rack space for bigger cooks. Using the water pan helped to keep temps consistent. The access door feels a little flimsy but is not necessarily a flaw. It allows easy access to both the charcoal and the water pan. It was a breeze to add more water and wood chunks to keep the smoke going. I look forward to using this again and again in the future. Great piece of equipment and I am very happy to have it in my arsenal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 100% Buy it - it is worth it! My husband was against me purchasing this smoker because of the price. He argued that his Weber kettle grill would be able to do the same job as the Weber smokey mountain. So, we had a little competition. As you can see from the photos attached, I was able to lounge around while he had to work on his temps from time to time. The WSM made smoking EASY. It maintains Temps and the heat lasts a solid 4-5 hours depending on your coal usage. I love my WSM and highly recommend it!! I am a first time smoker and I killed the competition. He did great on the weber kettle grill, but the WSM made smoking so much easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bbq ever! I received my wsm as a Father’s Day gift a few years ago, and smoking the best bbq I’ve ever had is so satisfying. The smoke penetration low and slow cooking is really awesome! I added a blower controller a couple years ago, and it is great (especially for longer cook times).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 2nd Place Brisket Weber Smoky Mountain is a great smoker! It’s easy to use and set up only requires a screw driver. I used WSM at a bbq competition and came home with a 2nd place brisket! The consistency of the temperature makes it almost impossible to ruin a cut of meat.
