Weber's BBQ Bacon Wrapped Meatballs
Posted on April 05, 2020 By Weber GrillsA crowd favorite, bbq bacon wrapped meatballs are perfect for tailgating. Wrap your favorite meatballs with bacon, dust on some rub, cook, and serve with barbecue sauce. These can be done the night ahead to reduce day of prep.

INGREDIENTS:
- 1 bag Homestyle Meatballs, small and frozen
- 2 lbs Bacon, thick sliced, cut in half lengthwise
- BBQ Rub of Choice (as needed)
- BBQ Sauce of Choice (as needed)
GAS/CHARCOAL INSTRUCTIONS:
- Remove meatballs from the bag. Place on a baking pan in the refrigerator for 4 hours to thaw.
- Place skewers in disposable half aluminum pan and submerge in water for a minimum of 30 minutes
- Wrap each meatball with a piece of the previously cut bacon and place on a skewer. Each skewer will hold 4 - 6 meatballs.
- Dust each meatball with BBQ rub.
- Prepare the grill for indirect cooking over medium heat (350 ø to 450 øF).
- Cook meatballs for 25 - 30 minutes on indirect heat until the bacon is cooked and crispy.
- Once bacon is crispy baste with BBQ sauce. Cook for 5 minutes more.
- Remove from the grill and serve warm.
SMOKE FIRE INSTRUCTIONS:
- Set temperature to 450 øF.
- Allow 15 minutes for Smoke Fire Unit to preheat. Once preheat is done and the unit is at 450 øF , take a grill brush and properly clean the grill grates.
- Place skewers on the grill and grill for 12 minutes before rotating skewers and grilling the meatballs for another 12 minutes.
- At this time the bacon should be crispy and you are ready to apply BBQ sauce and allow the skewers to cook for an additional 5 minutes for the sauce to set.
