The second time our not-so-old GE fritzed out, we both agreed to kick it to the curb (literally, other than using a hand truck to get it there) and buy something nice, with a third rack. Caught the last day of the big sale and found a good, mid-range model. We installed it immediately and transferred all the dirty dishes from the old one’s racks into the new one. Had lots of space left over because of using the third rack and removing the silverware baskets. When the cycle finished and we looked inside. We were astonished to see the dishes SO CLEAN and with almost no water on them despite not using the drying option. We scrape thoroughly, but weren’t used to them all coming out clean. Love the fingerprint resistant door, quiet signals, racks that can be loaded so flexibly, and clean dishes.

The dealer explained the blue light, then the red light and then the white light. I thought it was a very patriotic dishwasher. I could not find this info in the pamphlet. I am surprised that it runs so long on regular wash. I do like the upper shelf. The door is very heavy too, or I am weak.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had this Whirlpool dishwasher for about two months now, and although I’m usually hesitant to review a product in so short a time, I don’t believe I’ll run into any issues for many years. This unit replaced an older, other brand dishwasher when we moved into our new home at that time. Prior to the move I had a Whirlpool dishwasher that had similar features (- the top 3d rack) that was almost 15 years old that I installed myself and never had any issues with. That is why I stuck with Whirlpool.
I cannot speak much of the installation of this unit because I had this one professionally installed. It took the installer about an hour to install so it must have been fairly easy and straight forward. When I installed the dishwasher I previously mentioned it was fairly easy. Ok, on to the review. Controls: there aren’t that many, easy and comprehensive. I’ve tried all the cycles except ‘sensor’’ and ‘quick’ as I don’t much use, or have a need for them. I do like the soak and clean cycle because I believe that does the best job. It takes about 8 hours for this cycle. The unit is quiet, so unless you have it in your bedroom you will not notice it running. I don’t have many dishes to wash so I only wash dishes every few days. No residential dishwasher will wash pans with backed on food that’s been sitting around for a few days so I give them a quick brush in the sink before I put them in the dishwasher. I use Cascade complete pods and Cascade rinse. I am not exaggerating when I say the glasses (particularly wine glasses) come out of the dishwasher clean AND spotless. Highly recommend.

The only things I am not too impressed with is the sensor cycle. There have been a lot of rejects with this cycle.

I like that there is a shallow tray on top for silverware and other similar items. What a great idea! Those are my most commonly washed items- I’m glad they are easy to add and remove from the dishwasher having the convenient top drawer.
This dishwasher is not loud and always cleans my dishes! The stainless steel exterior looks very sharp. I would recommend this dishwasher!
