Can’t beat this dryer!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this dryer a few weeks ago and I can only say how happy we all are with this machine. I never write a review but this dryer is wonderful. We have a large family and drying clothes in the old dryer would take at least an hr. Now the same size load my clothes are dry in a half hour, maybe 40 minutes. It’s huge inside and tumbles the clothes so nicely. No wrinkles! We all love the lint screen being on top of the machine. No more cleaning a lint screen with the fluff just falling back inside the machine. And it’s a solid machine. The door is solid and it’s nice that it folds down. You have plenty of room to reach inside and get your clothes so no worries about leaning on the door. I have to say with kids I was worried they might do that but no because it’s so roomy and easy to reach inside to get your clothes. In my opinion you can’t go wrong with this dryer. Also Whirlpool offers for Pennie’s a month a warranty that covers everything and if they can’t fix it they replace it. So it’s a win win for this large family

A really good basic dryer for tight spaces
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Worked perfectly so far. I like the big door; I didn't want a dryer with a vertical hinge; I specifically wanted this type with a fold-down type door. The opening is huge (much larger than my old dryer) and putting clothes in and taking them out is very easy.
The controls are intuitive (probably more information than I need) and it was easy to get the dryer to perform to my expectations.
My old dryer had a lint filter (an old Whirlpool which served me well for more than 20 years) inside a little compartment on top with a door. I like the one-piece lint filter on this unit, as there is no door to break (I had to replace the old one once), or more frequently to try to close while you are removing or reinserting the lint filter.
One of the things that led me to a Whirlpool dryer, and specifically this model, was its depth. Having an older house with a limited laundry area in a downstairs bathroom, I could not tolerate any greater depth than this unit or its similar designed units. In fact, even with a telescoping vent tube requiring only 2" rear cearance, I have less than 1 inch front clearance to the bifold doors in the laundry area. Many other dryers, including the higher-level dryers from Whirlpool, have depths 1" or more greater than this one, which makes them a no-go for me. So if you are depth-challenged, this one has one of the smallest depth dimensions.
On top of all that, we have been loyal Whirlpool customers for a long time. I would have kept my 20-something year old dryer if it had not been damaged when doing a renovation of the downstairs bathroom. While it still worked, the control panel was severely dented; over the years I have replaced some internal parts and a belt or two, an idler pulley and other parts, but it just kept drying. But with the physical damage to the unit, it was time to replace the dryer since I had to replace an old Whirlpool washer at the same time and for the same reason.
We had a Sears dryer (probably made by Whirlpool) when we moved in here in 1974; the last Whirlpool lasted over 20 years, so this is only the third dryer in just under 50 years. Yes, I've had to replace parts, but on balance deciding to own a simple dryer without all the fancy controls and attachments has proven to be a good idea.

They last forever with no problems

They hadn’t changed. Why should they. They’re great. Had the second one for years. Never a problem with either of them. Then I flooded. So had to buy a new dryer and they still sell the same one. Love it. I highly recommend this dryer and all Whirlpool products.

does dryer come with 3or 4 prong plug?
I believe it's a three prong plug looking from the shape of the back of the plug. I tried to unplug it to see but I got a slight shock.
It's a heavy thick triangular shaped plug so I'm guessing its a three prong plug
