Emergency replacement working out great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] we bought this a week ago as our old fridge that came with our house (amana) was on the way out. it was an emergency, and luckily the 3rd place we went to had it in stock.
this whirlpool's freezer has more space, despite it being the same size as the amana, partly because it's deeper than the amana's, and it does not have the fancy icemaker taking up space.
the refridgerator compartment is shorter than the old, but it's still plenty roomy for a 2 person household.
the refridgerator drawers glide like a DREAM. i love that! maybe it's because it's new, maybe it's because they really have awesome glide technology- we'll see in a month or year or whatever how they hold up.
we let it sit for 4 hours before plugging it in- it began to feel cool within 2 hours- i was able to fill it the next morning.
it gets very cold- i had to bump it down one from "recommended" because the liquids are too cold for me.
the fact it's black, it makes my kitchen look larger. and it's supposed to have a fingerprint resistant shell, and so far i don't see prints.
the only thing i'm not 100% on is the door- all my life every fridge has the in-door shelving that goes all the way across- this one the shelving is divided halfway across into 2 shelving units. they are a special deeper shelf in-door for like a gallon milk jug. that's fine- but i think i prefer the old school way where the door is for condiments and small items that otherwise get lost in the refridgerator, while the body of the fridge can hold my gallons and larger whatevers.

Any help regarding this is appreciated. If you provide me with a small ice maker that can be filled with water and kept inside the freezer to get some ice. Previously I owned a whirlpool frig for many years. I am a senior citizen and can not afford to buy an expensive ice maker and retrofit the same. Thanks, Padmanabha D

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this refrigerator!!! I bought it to replace a non-Whirlpool side-by-side, that came with my home. I hated that one so much. Even though it was brand-new, I replaced that one, within 6 weeks of moving-in, at my own expense. I've had top-freezer Whirlpool models before, and having them is life changing. You can't store much of anything in the freezer of a side-by-side. Right before COVID started, I replaced the side-by-side that came with that previous home. It made it so that I didn't have to go to the store for such a long time. If I'd kept that side-by-side (non-Whirlpool), I would have had to put my health at-risk, all the time.
