Ridiculous, terrible waste of money
My family remodeled our house recently and decided to upgrade our microwave to this one, which could be hidden in the kitchen island. Good idea, but we made a grave mistake purchasing this particular microwave. Here is why:
1. It does a horrendous job at heating food properly. A medium plate of pasta and meatballs has to be in the microwave for more than 4 minutes at maximum settings for it to be hot. Anything less and you are biting through cold chunks. Not the biggest deal, but for the price is frankly shocking, as a microwave is intended for a single purpose: to heat food. This one struggles to perform even this most basic task.
2. The touch buttons on the front collect oils, grease, and dust/dirt from anything and everything that brushes against them, rendering them useless. They function (presumably) with electrical charges that it picks up from fingertips. However, they are so sensitive that they pick up skin oils and, within a few days of cleaning the surface, begins to confuse the buttons I intend to press for others. Example: I press 2-3-0 to tell the microwave to heat for 2.5 minutes, then press start. Pressing the start button adds another 0, making the time to heat 23 minutes. I press the “clear/reset” button to re-enter my time, and the microwave attempts to add another 0, but since it cannot heat beyond double digits, nothing happens. I am forced to press start until after a few attempts it finally begins heating for 23 minutes, and I stand and watch it until it has gone for the amount of time I actually wanted. Ridiculous.
3. Occasionally the microwave stops working? I have not had this issue myself, as I am in college and only come home for brief periods of time. My family relays this complaint to me as I am writing this, however, and it sounds like a coding issue.
Overall a terrible purchase. Clearly intended for show. My whole family is in agreement that it was a mistake to purchase this appliance. You can buy a standard countertop microwave for $100 dollars and would have a better device to heat your food. Use the extra $2100 dollars to buy ice cream for a decade. Your life will be much happier. (By the way, this has nothing to do with PCRichard, I’ve never been on this website before. I just want to let the world know to stay away from this machine at all costs)
